ST R2-D2 IS IN FOR EPISODE VII!

I hope R2 is voiced by Seth Macfarlane.

Other than the slight issue with the million dollar question of the status of the current post-ROTJ canon, it looks alright. But that's an issue for another thread.

 

Okay I am worried about the EU but we have the Falcon (which was in the PT for like 2 seconds) and we got R2. Hurry up with the Big 3!

 

I think people who enjoy the EU need to let it go. It served it's purpose by filling a void that existed. But now that void is going to be filled.

And YES! Please hurry with the Big 3 casting announcement so we can put that debate to rest. All these sporadic, contradictory reports are annoying.

 

The EU got a generation of kids to read. Nothing more nothing less.

 

A generation? Really? So that whole generation of kids read Star Wars books, and they wouldn't have read if there hadn't been Star Wars books? I was in high school during that generation, and I never touched them. I did, however, read enough other books to make me want to become an English teacher. You're overestimating their importance.

 

Even if that's true, not sure if it's a good thing.

 

It kept Star Wars alive between the OT and PT.

 

Even during the PT's reign while we all exasperated over Jar Jar and Hayden Christensen.

Let's not forget that the EU stretchered beyond books too.

The EU made a generation of kids stupid.

 

I hope Episode VII shows a flashback to a young Palpatine building R2-D2 in his home on Naboo.

 

And kept it alive until the present.

 

Now it will die a horrible violent death.

 

I actually think it will just fade quietly into the night never to be recalled again . . .

 

I like the PT, OT, TCW, and EU. Debate over.
