By the way, I think we need to take a moment to prepare ourselves for getting owned next season. What am I talking about? I am talking about the greatness that will be the 276 Rydonni Prime Monarchs. In 255, the Nar Shaddaa Smugglers went 0-7. The next year they went 6-1. I'm already chalking up the 276 Blue & Gold Bowl as a loss in my scheduling projections for the Miners.

 

And now the Monarchs go home to half a stadium and an empty trophy case...

Falene is sending Vesper flowers and good wishes...mainly because she would really appreciate it if the Monarchs won their last two games. She's just being a good cousin. There's absolutely no self-interest in that at all.

 

I think everyone in the game might do well to send flowers as well.

Man, when Vehn does a video, it just adds such a nice little touch. Even though the Smugglers are sliding in the standings, but why do I think that game is going to be fantastic? This is going to be a heck of a week.

Speaking of which, I have a little surprise in advance of Bakura/Coruscant. Nothing related to the game or political events. Just something I think you'll all find fun.

Oh, and at this rate, do not expect league expansion for 276. The two people who were supposedly joining have not spoken with me in a while. The third I'll be talking to again in a few weeks, so we may just be dropping one NPC.

 

Why do I feel like this is going to be a real groaner of a surprise?

I may have to come up with an equally random surprise just to balance out the weirdness.

Great post, Tim Battershell! You see what you started jcgoble3? Before long, people will be bringing "gimmick" offenses into the ELL. Of course, I might have things wrong in that someone has already done that. Probably, just can't remember who.

 

Depending on who you ask, several of us running spread offenses can be using "gimmicks". Like Bardan_Jusik and I

 

Oh great. Now the Smugglers are going to develop the "Wild Nexu Offense" where the goalkeeper snaps the ball directly to the forwards or something like that.

 

Remember, it's only weird if it doesn't work.

 

Oh great. Now we're going to hear about the Senators fan named Ramses who yells at the holoprojector during the game even though the team can't hear him.

Nah. I'd rather have the guy who, every time he goes down to get Gud Light, the Senators score. So he needs to crack the code by staying down in the creepy basement.

 

I cannot believe that I have started this line of thought.

 

All good ideas start out with initial regret followed by a feeling of pure genius.

I actually thought about doing it last year with Alana, but rhyming "Glencross" with something got a little hard.

Until I thought of what I thought of this year.

 

I guess it's never too early to reference the holiday season in the game.

And the Senator fans reactions were completely genuine, I must admit.
