I'd point out that the actual declarations of secession- which are available online, though I can't remember where- all specifically cite slavery as the institution being protected, and that the Confederate constitution specifically enshrined slavery and forbade any Confederate state from banning it. It's hard to get around the actual words of the CSA.

80 hour work weeks, 7 days a week? Not as glamorous as one would think...

I'd recommend it, Coop. My friend has been calling it "Hobo Batman" ever since he saw the pilot and despite his yelling at me to watch it I never got around to it.

Now I wish I'd been watching from day one and can't wait to catch up. Cracking stuff.

Well, consider the setting. DC is many things, but fashionable? Not too often.

Damn you, my Vulcan friend. I am now the proud owner of a $125 Mon Remonda. After years of procrastinating, I have finally given in. Granted, it will be the pride of my Micro Machine fleet, but still. :p

When it arrives next week I will take a photo of it alongside my two Home One and four Liberty Mon Cal cruisers in fleet formation.

That is awesome, I still have the micro-machines of the Home One and Liberty, along with a few others. Didn't realize the Mon Remonda was going for so much. I wish some company would start making these things like this again, maybe for the new movies.

If you don't have it already, I would be more than willing to give you a good deal on a Admiral Ackbar GG bust.

Well, in my defense, it is helping me close a long term goal from my childhood, so can I argue that it is helping me to move on? :-B

Are the Action Fleet E-Wing and TIE Defender your next goal?

I never collected the larger Action Fleet ones, but I distinctly remember my LCS having the E-wing in a bargain bin one day for clearance. It had been on the shelve for years and I wanna say it was only like $5.00. Had I known at the time that they were hard to find I might of grabbed it!

I am almost embarrassed to admit this, but I decided to enlarge my fleet, for my future posterity, of course. [face_beatup] For +/- $60 I was able to pick up a lot that had two MC80 Liberty cruisers, one Home One, one escort frigate, one medium transport, three corvettes, five Star Destroyers, one SSD, and a host of smaller fighters.

If memory serves (I need to get the old box out of my storage), I now have the following fleet:

    x2 SSD's
    x9 ISD's
    x3 MC80 Home One-type's
    x1 MC80B Mon Remonda
    x6 MC80 Liberty-type's
    x3 Nebulon-B escort frigate's
    x1 Flurry cruiser-carrier
    x7 Corellian Corvettes
    x3 Medium Transports

I distinctly remember the capital ships, but I can't remember the number of Rebel fighters and TIE's.

As soon as the fleet is assembled, I will post a pic.

If you had a TIE Defender at this point you could probably retire on it. I had a pretty sizable Action Fleet collection but a year or so ago I sold it all to my comic guy for use with HeroClix games.
