    Duros
    Advantages
Born spacer: all space related skills/abilities are cheaper
    Disadvantages
    non

    Lurmens
    Advantages
Small: harder to hit and can get into small spaces, like air ducts
Wheeled shape: in this form they can travel four times their normal speed
    Disadvantages
Small: Less lifepoints; lowered caring ability and halved speed

    Trandoshan
    Advantages
Claws: more damage in close combat
Quick healers: Heal twice as fast
    Disadvantages
Prejudged: everybody you meet for the first time expect you to be a mindless brute; hunting obsessed and/or a psychopathic killer
Cold blooded: Has to have special environment suits to be able to walk around on areas with high level of cold/heat

    Herglic
    Advantages
Big: More lifepoints and do more damage in close combat
    Disadvantages
Big: Easier to hit and can not get into all places
    Mrlssi
    Advantages
Small: harder to hit and can get into small spaces, like air ducts
    Disadvantages
Small: Less lifepoints; lowered caring ability and halved speed
Prejudged: everybody you meet for the first time expect you to be an academic; if you did chose a charier involving fighting expect to be ridiculed

    Mon Calamari
    Advantages
Amphibian: Can enter the underwater levels without getting diving gear; water speed is doubled
    Disadvantages
Amphibian: Has to have special environment suits to be able to walk around on areas with low level of humidity

To further exemplify how diverse Coruscant can be, let's not forget it also has ice caps, a sea with artificial islands, and so on.

The problem is that they won't get out of the OT. The perfect "balanced, multiple enemies" time period would be the immediate post-Endor era. Another attempt at the "Rebel Alliance vs. Empire" is pointless, but what they will most likely end up doing anyways... alongside another iteration of the Battle of Hoth.

I suggest that it take place around 500 years after the Russan reform, in some part of the galaxy that is right then pioneer territory. Most of the planets in the game will be uncivilised or have had just the barest of contact with the know galaxy.
Also some of them could be populated by the descendant to earlier colonists that has forgotten their history and now at live in a pre-information age level: Stone age herglic; musket wielding duros; Lurmens & Mrlssi sharing a steampunk world; Trandoshan with diesel plains!

Do anybody have any idea about when/where this is taking place? Or can we speculate freely?

Pretty much anything that happened on Byss, or any of the Empire's off the books genetic experimentations.

You play a tortured prisoner from one of the Byss labs that breaks free. You've got to fight lab techs, Palpatine's dark side minions, security personnel, other prisoners and mutants. And your goal is to hijack a world devastator. Before R2 blows up the planet.

Then, to continue with my previous idea

The driving back-story will be that a new hyperspace route has been found that is opening up an area of the galaxy barely touched so now pioneers, prospectors and traders flock to those new territories. And with them comes the law to protect them and the criminals to live of them.

Player can chose between three fractions: Law; Neutral; Crime
Law means that you are part of the system and even possibly work to uphold the law. By choosing Law people trust you and there is a safety net for you. On the downside you don’t have as much freedom and earn less from your missions
Neutral means that you have the best of both words. You are under the protection of the law but not as restricted by it and can get some extra money by small time smuggling or other activities. On the downside Neutral don’t have so many high level missions as the other two fractions.
Crime means that you chose freedom before safety or maybe just realised that crime pay. By choosing Crime you don’t need the follow the restrictions of the Republic and the pay from missions are greater. On the downside people have a tendency not to trust you and the Law hounds you.

The player chose a fraction at the beginning of the game but can then change fraction in the game thought game-play.

What do we do when we wake?
Keep both eyes on the sky.
What do we do when we sleep?
Keep one eye on the sky.
What do we do when we see 'em?
Dig hard, dig deep, run for shelter, never look back.

I can recommend it as a good popcorn movie. What I meant with the quote is that the Dragons in the movies are good horror creature, they have destroyed most of the civilisation and are to big too be killed by normal means. They would work excellent on some kind of pioneer/low tech world were the Players always have to watch the sky as they run through a alien landscape
