Read recently that it was going to be revealed that Kurt Russell's character was going to be Brian's dad. Guess that plan will be scrapped.

 

I read that Russell would be the father of Jesse, ( the guy who was killed near the end in The Fast and Furious )

 

Well I read that Russell was actually going to be a time traveling Snake Plisken that was trying to prevent Escape from L.A. from being released.

 

Whoever Russell was going to be wasn't the original plan since it was supposed to be Denzel Washington playing that role before he dropped out (or he never signed on, one or the other).

 

Hmm, I had never heard Denzel Washington mentioned before at all. It had always been Kurt Russell as Jesse's father, I thought. He's the one that's hired Statham to get revenge on Dom because he blames him for Jesse's death.

Then again, the more I think about it I don't know if an official synopsis was ever released so that may not be true. Russell's listing on the IMDB page doesn't have a character name.

 

We'll find out in 2 years then.
