Well from the Sequel News facebook page (which is also linked through the main episode VII fb page), there's a link that re-states the Rachel Hurd-Wood/Alex Pettyer rumor and it's dated December 23. Someone's behind the times or is possibly saying something.

Neither, since we have no news and some at TFN have been really wanting an unknown, (doesn't matter to me) she has been the best that I have found, and I will admit she has really awesome blue/grey eyes.
If they wanted a Mara Jade daughter type she would be good for that role.

On a side note a really wish we could find out if they will be using some elements from the EU or will they be starting from scratch using none of it, as in 100% different in names and style of characters.
My personal opinion is I hope they go hybrid, pulling what works the best for the story arch and plot, not adamantly saying we can't use that guy/gal/It they were EU only.

 

And like every good publicist knows, posting stuff in fan forums gets parts.

If you look at the production news and announcements for Bad Robot's previous feature, Star Trek: Into Darkness, you will see that most of it hit the month prior to, and the month of shooting/production. Since production is supposed to begin on Ep7 sometime this spring (March, April, or May) that means we're getting extremely close. I'd go so far as to say this is the calm before the storm.

My previous predictions were off because production was supposed to begin in January, so I figured announcements would be forthcoming in November and December. However, unless production is delayed yet again, I'd say next month, March, and April are crunch time. They HAVE to announce the basic stuff by that point, and if they don't, it will be readily leaked.

 

I think it's safe to say that they failed our expectations on when they release some news already. Most of us expected in November at the latest but that month passed by, December passed by too. We just gave up on expecting a date!

They will release some news when most people are not expecting it. I don't know if there will be a special announcement during Super Bowl, but that would be cool. I doubt it, since Star Wars promote itself.

 

I would be surprised if we get anything major and official before March.

Nobody failed you. Your expectations were not realistic.
