Hopefully we will still get the Omnibuses.

Knowing Marvel if they do continue with the omnibuses, they'll be significantly smaller, put in hardcover for no reason and cost an extra 20$

Given how it just revels in almost childish levels of über-violence it might be, or made for the same people who like torture porn. [face_dunno]

I may be wrong but did the article say anything about Marvel getting the rights to Dark Horse's stuff? If I remember correctly Dark Horse had to go through a lot of legal hoops to be able to print the classic Marvel stuff.

I wonder if Marvel will follow Dark Horse's continuity or reset everything. It does seem like a good opportunity for Disney to alter the EU to be more in line with whatever the ST will be.

Gutted for Dark horse but it was to be expected really.

I think at this point there,s no way they won't completly ditch the old continuity in 2015.

It doesn't have to reset anything pre ROTJ. But it wouldn't surprise me if they did...

Dark Horse has been behind some of the absolute greatest Star Wars projects we've ever seen. Though this isn't entirely unexpected at all, it's still a gut punch and a terrible loss for the franchise. We don't know what Marvel's plans are, but they've got big shoes to fill. Legacy-KotOR-Dark Times-Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison size shoes.

Thanks to everyone at Dark Horse, but it's not over yet. We've still got 12 months of Star Wars comics yet to come.

To all who said this wasn't going to happen for this reason or that.....TOLD YA SO.

Actually kinda of sad. I hope Dark Horse takes this as an opportunity and ends their run with the license with some of the best STAR WARS stories ever.

To think that when I finished watching this week's GOT I thought that not enough horrible things happened in it. And then I log into this...

What I meant was, even those people in denial had to have known this was bound to happen at some point. (I thought that was rather obvious, but apparently I have to spell it out.)

I'll adopt a wait-and-see approach...with KOTOR, Dark Times, and Invasion all over, Legacy 2 is the only thing I really care about from DH (and I haven't even read any of that yet; I'll probably get the TPB(s) once I have a job again). And by 2015, that series will have had a long, prosperous run. I am sure that things will turn out just fine; Marvel has surely improved since the 80s...right?

If you notice Dark Horse did indeed start ending their ongoings and shifting to more mini-series work. It looks like they kinda figured this was a big possibility as well.

I'm still expecting a move to Hyperion (or another Marvel imprint) as soon as the Del Rey license is up as well, sadly...

Marvel does the Halo comics (I think that's the only "major" licensed comic they're running), yes? Anyone familiar enough with their treatment of continuity on that project?

The entire EU will rest, not because of 7, 8 & 9 but because of the filler movies. You can expect new back stories on EVERYONE. That's how Marvel (and LFL) will make a new profit. Discount everything, license out new adventures to authors, and comic writers. Refill the blacks in the movies (all of them) retell the story of the bounty hunter on Ord Mantell, tee plain why Lando is angry with Han.

Basically reboot everything except little bits that LFL thinks it likes.

It failed because interest after ROTJ declined.

I say give em a chance and see what they can do.

Actually, Dark Horse got the rights to the Halo comics and starting publishing a monthly Halo book last month. However, when Marvel had Halo their books were often delayed (think Blue Harvest levels of delay, perhaps bigger).
