ST SW Episode VII to OPEN DECEMBER 18, 2015

Shame. I was really looking forward to that. Loved Man of Steel. Would love to see Snyder take on one of the spin-offs down the road.

 

DC/Warner Bros REALLY does not want to take on Avengers 2 even with a roster like Batman and Superman in the same flick. They are going to have to come out with something great or their Justice League will be held back even longer.

 

Rumour has it that Man of Steel 2 (or whatever it’s called) and Justice League are filming back-to-back. This push back solidifies that “rumour”, IMO. TBH, I don’t think much needs to be done. People will rush out to see a film with Batman and Superman sharing screen time. Justice League is the trickier one, I think.

 

Honestly I'm not at all excited by the Superman-Batman movie... meh.

But I can't believe you guys haven't pointed out much more important news...

Have a forgotten 90s OT era movie/videogame to tide you over for a minute:

(In its defence, um...it's the first footage shot in the Star Wars universe after ROTJ, and James Earl Jones does actually voice Darth Vader!)

 

WB's DC universe is a complete and utter mess:

1- They're merging the gritty realism of Nolan's Dark Knight with Snyder's fantasy Man of Steel
2- They cast Batfleck cause even 50 mil couldn't lure Bale back
3- Originally this Batmand v Superman crapfest was supposed to be Justice League
4- Now rumors are that it will become Justice League again by default as WB tries desperately to include Wonder Woman and the Flash in cameos

What I don't get is how WB doesn't just copy the Avengers formula? They seriously can't find a one or two crappy scriptwriters in Hollywood to churn out a pathetic Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Wonder Twins one-off to setup the Justice League????

 

Script is finished according to Abrams. Says they are heavy into pre-preduction.

I expect filming to start in June or July. Film will be more than ready by Christmas 2015.

I spect we'll be getting a good stream of news starting in the next few months. First teaser perhaps for guardians of the galaxy.

I'm gonna say May the 4th they start rolling! That's the next date to hype, yay!

 

I think Production will actually begin much sooner than the rumored "spring." I am betting on February or March.

Takes time and a lot of money to pursue something like that. Marvel hit a streak of luck and DC is, at the moment, playing catch up as a result of that luck streak. I agree that Man of Steel should not have been grounded in reality because that's not Superman at all.

I liked the movie nonetheless.

 

In my experience there's no such thing as luck.

 

It would be nice if they released Episode VIII on the 40th anniversary in 2017.

Can't see them waiting til 2019 for Episode VIII. 2018 maybe, but not 19.

In any case, after 2015 they won't touch December with a ten foot pole due to Avatar.
