I've said this before but City, from Asylum, was a massive leap forward. It took the concept of a success but linear game and applied it to an open world setting.

Origins, in that regard, did nothing new. In using the map from City, but not populating it except with odd criminal gangs, it felt lifeless. The story was quite good but the polish was lacking, the controls were clunky, and the promise didn't match the final product.

It also did not have THIS:

A training montage. Yeah, ok, you guys win. **** Last of Us and GTA, that one should've been GOTY.

Ya it was a little buggy, but even though not a lot changed from it I still enjoyed it a lot, because City is my favorite game of all time. I am curious and excited to see what Rocksteady does with the next installment (Kevin Conroy accidentally let it slip that Rocksteady was working on an Arkham game that wasn't Origins).

Didn't you feel the whole "empty city" thing just summarised the whole game though?

My GOTY is not on the list. an underrated game that when first came out had GOTY considerations but as soon as other great titles came out, died down and thats TOMB RAIDER.

i always hated the previous tomb raider games for there bad graphics, bad controls and camera and terrible story but as soon as Tomb Raider (2013) came out, i became a fan, even though i dont like the previous games lol.

I agree. And even though its remote possible, in most people's minds, but what about Brothers: A Tale of 2 Sons.

Not as good, Tomb Raider. Sorry. Just wasn't.

Look at the art in this cutscene:

I want to play that but the fact that it requires a controller is preventing me from considering it for purchase at present.:(

Im guessing your a pc person. Brothers, is actually on sale on steam over the weekend. Im not sure how it works for the pc and its not really required to use a controller.

If you liked Journey on the ps3, u will prob like Brothers, just saying. I think everyone should give this game a shot.

im actually doing a walkthrough of the game on my channel now.

I don't have the money for any new consoles, so it will be PS2 and Gamecube forever, yo. PC (and sometimes DS Lite) is the only way I can play new games.

What game does everyone think has the best soundtrack?

Also for FPS of the year I vote ARMA III.

The only game I own thats on that list is GTA V, which I enjoyed, although it was only something to distract me from waiting for RDR3 or Fallout 4 or Star Wars 1313(which is now cancelled).

GTA 5 and Last of Us would be 1a and 1b for me. Last of Us was incredible, but there GTA sucked up so much time. AC4 would be 3rd place, the controls need work and the stealth missions are terrible and constant, but being a pirate is so fun.

Seriously, I will get around to playing Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon... *sigh* my backlog reaches back to 2007's Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It would probably take me 15 years just to play all the games of the past 7 years that I want to, and by then my backlog will have tripled in size.

Why are there so many good games? :(

I'm looking back at what I played that actually came out in 2013...Tomb Raider, BioShock Infinite, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Blood Dragon, Arkham Origins, GTA V...I've had the most fun with Blacklist, if I'm being honest. I didn't play many games from 2013 in 2013, so I'd probably say that Far Cry 3 or XCOM: Enemy Within is my game of the year, not necessarily the best game that came out in 2013.

However, I really really disliked Bioshock Infinite.

I heard a litany of excuses there when all I wanted to hear was "yes, Blood Dragon is next up"
