I scanned and colored some cheesecake (it was for someone on another forum), so now I'm going to go eat some cheesecake.

    Hooray, cheesecake! :D

    I hate it when random strangers start talking to me pretty much all of the time, much less if they were naked! 8-}

I once was on the way to catch a plane at 7am, I hadn't had any coffee, which was just a bad idea. I had ear buds in and a hat pulled way down on my face and the guy on the bus insisted on talking to me. I wish I could be the kind of person that could say 'What part of earbuds and hat pulled down makes you think I want to talk?!" but I can't. I think there should be an introvert section and an extrovert section of public transportation so the people who want to talk to random strangers can do so and those who just want to sit quitely can do so and never the two shall mix. ;)

I hope you are feeling better, Bri! [:D]

I always remember a quote from Groundhog Day. Bill Murray runs into a person he didn't want to talk to. After hearing the man babble on for a few second before Murray says something like, "I could stay here all day talking to you, but I wont."

I guess you could pretend that you don't speak English. Entschuldigen Sie bitte. Ich spreche kein Englisch. Nicht verstehen. (I often heard this phrase coming from Germans when Americans didn't even try to speak their language). My mother pulled that off for years when she worked in Southern California. She never told anybody she was Spanish. The ladies from Mexico would talk in front of her and gossip about everybody. She didn't like them because they were gossips, so this gave her an excuse not to talk to them since they spoke little English.

Today I learned that Bill Murray hired a deaf-mute personal assistant to take his calls after some directed yelled at him because he wasn't answering his calls.

I hate it when people try to talk to me. I keep a pair of earbuds in my purse for when creepy/annoying people try to talk to me. Half the time they aren't even connected to anything.

I really hate talking on the phone, so I ignore all the calls when I'm home alone, like I was today. My step-father's sister (who I hate) called twice, so I ignored it, so when my half brothers got home, she called again (I looked at the caller ID), I picked up the phone and I yelled at them to "Answer the *Bleeping* phone because it's your *bleep* face, *bleeping* aunt who has been calling all *bleeping* afternoon" (I swear like a trucker). I went to throw the phone at them, then I realized that I had hit the TALK button by accident. I pretty much started screaming. She had probably heard my entire rant. I am in SOOOO much trouble.

No, but this woman, and the rest of her family are pretty petty and vindictive. It's like she never matured past the age of 16.

Now I'm glad that most of my older relatives don't speak English. It is hard to accidentally insult them when you have to run everything through Google Translate.

I think you may be in trouble Bri. Can you blame low blood sugar? Or tell them you were really, really drunk. Or you were possessed by the ghost of George Carlin who kept spouting off the seven dirty words you can't say on TV (I just checked and three of those words you can say on local TV and I am pretty sure all seven can now be said on cable).

I used to have a similar problem at uni. I used to turn up early so that I could read books in peace (sometimes they would be books related to the course, sometimes they would be sci-fi or fantasy novels.) I would sit in the lecture theatre reading my book and this Asian woman would sometimes speak to me. (She thought because I didn't hang around with people that I didn't have any friends.) It wouldn't have been too bad, but most of the time I didn't know what she was talking about. I also used to turn up early because I hate the stress of being late. (Having high blood pressure is a pain when in stressful situations...) Reading was my way of unwinding before the lecture started so that I could concentrate better on it.

I don't know where people got the idea from that I didn't want to talk to people, though, because it's not like I went out of my way to avoid people. I just got to places early. If it was quiet in the atrium, I would sit there but if it was busy, I would go into the lecture theatre we were due to be in (if it was open) because I don't like busy places. The noise of loads of people talking gives me a headache. The most annoying thing is that when I didn't mind people talking to me, they hardly ever did, but when I didn't want people talking to me, that's when they would come over.

I don't have too much of a problem with random people talking to me. I'm very aloof and even a bit standoffish, so people generally leave me alone.

What an awful night. About 1 AM I hear my son groaning and running to the bathroom. Unfortunately he only made it as far as my room before he threw up in the hallway. So now I have to clean up the mess. I said to my son, "What in the world did you eat?" I swear it literally looked like he was puking his guts out. He told me he had a hot pocket earlier. I don't think that's what was giving him trouble. So I am taking care of him and I am worrying that I may have to bring him to the hospital until he said, "Oh yeah I did eat that big bag of pork rinds I found in the back of the pantry." My husband says, "I haven't bought pork rinds in years." So I find the bag and it says, "Use before April 2012". They were red hot sauce covered pork rinds so that explained the gross factor.

    Ack! [face_sick]

    Lesson learned, apparently.

I couldn't help but laugh myself silly at that, though; it's just too funny. :D

I would have thought it funny, but I was the person who had to clean up blood red, half digested pork skin off the carpet in front of my bedroom door.

Or did you mean it was funny that I had to clean it up, not that my son was sick? Or was it both?

Slept like crap last night. Thankfully, Mabel was there to sleep in the middle of my bed, so I had to corkscrew my spine around her.

Or you could just move the cat. :p

I am irritated with Bryce 7. I have been waiting for that particular computer program to become compatible with MAC Lion. So I checked today and now they are compatible up to Mac OS X 10.6… but I have OS X 10.7. So I decided to give up and buy it for windows and use it on my laptop. So I go to the website and find out it isn't yet compatible to my new Window 8. I just can't win.

On one of my cross-Atlantic flights I had my sketchpad out and was doing a self-portrait of myself leaning against a tree in the middle of nowhere with 2 people in the background pointing toward me and one of them had a text balloon which says, "Look! there is someone who obviously wants to be left alone. Let's go see if he wants to talk!" which prompted the 2 people sitting next to me to begin commenting on my art. [face_plain] I suppose I should be gleeful and consider it meta.

    ANYWAYS.

My cat knows not to sleep in the middle of the bed. She has her little harry spot in the corner beside my pillow and she knows if she moves from it, she will get kicked or steamrolled.

I've spent my weekend thus far watching The Thick Of It with Peter Capaldi. If you can withstand the language, it's brilliant. I recommend it if you can find it. I've watched seasons 1-3 (granted, they are 30 minute shows and there is a total of 14 episodes between all 3 seasons, plus 2 one hour specials), but I can't find the last season anywhere (legally or illegally). But now the problem is, my muse has jumped onto a fic idea. I hate it when my muse does this to me.

I hope your son is feeling better Jedi_Lover! (And sorry you had to clean that up... [face_sick])

Space_Wolf - I used to do the same thing... go to class early and read (if there wasn't a class before it). This was when I had just started reading the EU and one of my professors would come in and want to know what was going on where I was reading at that time (which was fine with me). Other than him, people pretty much left me alone when I was doing so, luckily.

Yeah, he's better. Thanks. I don't know if the pork rinds were rancid or my son just ate so much that his stomach rejected it. He said they tasted great.

Might have been a combination of both. I once ate so many Cheez-Its that my guts rejected them, even though they tasted fine. Never did that again until I went to college and made a breakfast out of Coke and Cheez-Its.

I'd take a guess and say the mixing of the pork rinds being out of date and eating so much of them is probably what did him in. However if they tasted fine, they probably were fine (perhaps a little stale), but I usually don't trust teenage boys' taste buds :p They will eat pretty much anything.

Now I am thinking it was a coincidence and he had a stomach bug. I didn't eat any pork rinds and I just spent the last half hour praying to the porcelain god. Oh man, this sucks.

Your stomach bug must have traveled, as I've been sick to my stomach all evening. All I ate was a Pop Tart.
