PT Did cin drallig deserve a larger part in ROTS ?

I want to see Anakin slay Baron Papanoida.

 

Does anyone have a source for that? Wookieepedia doesn't.

I'm not sure making them off-yellow makes it any better. They were supposed to be green (and they were until the last minute change).

 

My apologies - I didn't see that the sourcing was in question for that within Wookieepedia... I saw the footnote and wrongly assumed it was a confirmed source - not that it was in question....

^ For that reason no. You can't ignore him for the first two films and then give him attention in ROTS. Maybe if there were scenes of him training Anakin in AOTC, sparring with the masters, then it would add more emotion to Anakin killing him. But to just give him the extra attention for the sake of it would be fodder.

 

I would've liked to have seen his lightsaber fight with Darth Vader be just slightly longer in the holocron tape, instead of a couple seconds maybe instead 15 or 20 seconds. It was much too quick for average moviegoers to guess that Cin Drallig was kind of a big deal in the Jedi Temple.

 

It would have been better to have, maybe, some dialogue for the other Jedi who are seen more clearly. Like Luminara or Aayla organising their troops before the troops turn on them.

 

It would be cool to see a Jedi present a challenge. Was this in the movie at all, or is this purely hypothetical? It's been a while since I watched them...

 

No. Unless he was already an established character like Mace, there's no reason to give him a larger role.

 

It's quite possible he was standing in the way when Vader and the 501st marched up the steps to the Jedi temple and pissed him off.

Kind of disagree with this for a few reasons

1. quite a lot of people were ignored in the first two films (Grievous being an example missing from AOTC)

2. We needed to see more Jedi that looked like they were actually capable of being Jedi, the only people that look like they can do anything close to their job is Mace, Obi-Wan, Yoda, we needed to see others who can actually fight, not just the major players.

3. Anakin only defeated one person in the whole PT, an old guy who was probably out of his prime, yup great... such proof he's the chosen one.

 

Apart from the couple of dozen that you see in the Geonosis arena fight...

and the Jedi who can't reflect a couple of blaster shots from Jango,

No, Cin Drallig did not deserve a larger role. Is Nick Gillard even an actor, anyway? The last thing we needed is another wooden actor in these films.

 

I think the Temple scene with him should have been longer, it was far too quick IMO. But I don't think he should have had a bigger part, I think Lucas should have given the Order66 Jedi a little bit more screen time to make Order66 a bit more emotional. Most of them appeared in AOTC briefly. But there was no reason for him to get screen time then end up having him killed half way through.

Maybe its because he was sortof a badass in the ROTS Video Game?

I don't see want difference it makes, especially if it's an action scene with no dialogue. He has to be better than most of the actors since he's the one who trained them.

The only person who could decide whether he deserves a bigger role is the writer. Would it be nice to see him in a bigger role? That depends on the person. I wouldn't mind it.
