The dialogue and iconsim of the Stormtroopers burys the clone troopers.

The faceless masses all in white with no identity, I gotta say Storm Troopers. They could never hit the heroes but as a giant force for the Empire they looked effective.

You might not like where you're standing though - especially if it's "right next to what they're shooting at" :D

Clones, if for no other reason that they are less buffoon-like. Storms were the battledroids of the OT.

    Dialogue?

Stormtroopers seem a much cooler, in my opinion. They are more uniform, and less personal, which is better for soldiers, in my opinion.

They couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a bazooka but I have to give to to the stormies.

Clone Troopers. Mainly because we have been able to go real in depth with them on the Clone Wars. In the OT, the troopers where almost a joke.

Stormtroopers could hit things as long as their lasers weren't deflected by main character statuses.

I'm going with clone troopers. You learn more about them: their history, what their personality is like (Well, like Jango's but more willing to follow orders). Plus, they play a more important plot role: they kill the Jedi. The best you see the storm troopers do is win on Hoth. Also, I just never liked the storm troopers uniforms. The snow troopers were cool, but I always thought the storm troopers looked dorky.

That's how I feel. They both are obedient, but the clones look a little cooler, except for the snow troopers on hoth, damn those look awesome.

Stormtroopers by a mile. Brace for headcanon:

I've always felt that the stormtroopers missed their shots on purpose. After all, Vader couldn't care less about the life of some idealistic Princess; his goal was always to find the location of the rebel's hidden base. Killing her doesn't get him any closer to that goal. So when her compatriots break her out of prison, he sees a golden opportunity -- plant a tracking device on their escape ship and then let them lead him back to their base themselves. They can't do that if they're dead. But if he just lets them walk away, they'll cotton on to his ruse. So what's a Dark Lord to do?

He orders his perfectly obedient, incredibly precise army of nameless, faceless, and limitless soldiers to go out there and sell the deception. Shoot at them, but don't hit them, but don't look like you're trying not to hit them. Oh, and they'll definitely shoot back at you, so you'll probably die. Just remember that it's for the Empire.

It would take an insane amount of both skill and dedication to carry out that order. Consider too that they're more imposingly faceless than an army of literal clones, and you have a winner.

Clones, as they were portrayed as more-than-accidentally competent, which in turn lead to qualities of menace and tragedy with scenes like Order 66 and the march to the Jedi temple. By comparison the OT 'troopers often seem a few steps up from a punchline.

Yeah, I reckon if the stormies were left in charge of carrying out Order 66 the Jedi Order may still be alive and well in ROTJ!

Stormtroopers, they had a wider array of personality and people, as Sidious allowed for recruiting and created more genetic sources, giving more variaty, plus their armour looked cooler (see Avatar)

Stormtroopers, Clones were just blatant rip-offs of them.

We don't actually see all that much of their personality variance in the movies.
