There's an awful lot of assumption about Maul's anatomy going on to assume he couldn't procreate simply because he had his lower half removed. I know he didn't wear a shirt but that doesn't necessarily preclude some sort of upper body appendage....maybe...okay I should have just stayed out of this conversation.....

Some nameless spacer who made planetfall on Tatooine for one single night, then spent said night in the way that ship's men have been known to pass a single night in a foreign port since time immemorial *wink*.

When the Jedi inquired about the parentage of her young son, Shmi, not wanting to tell him the truth about the one night with the spacer, concocted a story of immaculate conception that played to the Jedi's crazy ideas of the will of the Force and such like. It worked. The guy bought it, and the rest is history.

Oh, wait. Is this the book where she has the topless pic? I actually have it saved on my iPad to be honest. As soon as I heard that officially licensed nude art of Aayla was made, you can imagine I had to check it out for posterity sake.
