    Perhaps.

I see it as a much larger ying yang symmetry.

    PT-DARKSIDE Dominates
OT-BATTLE over FATE of the Galaxy
    ST - LIGHTSIDE Dominates

The PT was about Palpy secretly pulling the strings and setting up the Sith Empire.
The OT was about Palpy and Luke fighting over Anakin (Symbol of the Force / Galaxy). Luke won.
The ST might be about Luke secretly setting up plans to build a new order (jedi or republic)

Whereas Palpy wanted to rule himself, I think Luke will not. Throughout the OT he never really led anyone. He always acted alone or as part of his friends. I don't think he intends for himself or the Jedi to rule. We saw how badly having the Jedi closing align with the political body turned out.

Additionally, Anakin's role in the Trilogies is as a living breathing symbol of the Force or of the Galaxy

PT :: Anakin starts out good but dies. Turns into Vader. (Just as the Republic started out good, became corrupted, died, and became the Empire)
OT :: Anakin/Vader is pure evil. Living only be technology and sheer brute force. (Just as the Empire is completely corrupted, and survives by death and destruction alone) In his final moments, he turns back to the light to save his son.

    Conjecture -
ST :: Anakin has been redeemed and his now in the spiritual plane. (The galaxy becomes alive again in the spiritual sense. The Force is balanced)

I have no clue as to what the titles should be. I think anything we come up with will either sound too cheesy, or to repetitive.

    It could be something like

EP 7 : The Forgotten Spectre
EP 8 : Victory of the Republic
EP 9 : Balance of the Force

Those are all sorta lame...but illustrate the point

It's getting quite disheartening to come here each day and see nothing exciting. Would it kill JJ and Co. to give us a little something??

Didn't you know that if they disclose anything before time, the whole cast and crew spontaneously combust :p

I admire the passion you put into this whole "title logic" thesis. Respectfully, I hope the creative minds behind the ST are not following this line of thought at all.

Yeah, sorry, I think there is no "hidden logic" behind these titles. They're based on old school adventure movies with pompous and descriptive titles, that are over the top on purpose.
ST will follow that tradition and the title will be descriptive of the story and will rather be selected based on what "sounds cool" rather than by any hidden algorithm.

I mean...who know what the titles will be. I don't think any of us will guess correctly.

But ...Who's talking about some hidden algorithm. I'm just talking about some poetic rhythm. I mean, we know Lucas likes having the trilogies mirror up, right?

I guess I ask this honesty, does it really seem that far fetched or like hidden logic? I mean...it almost seems too obvious.

The Phantom Menace & A New Hope = Both refer to a mysterious person who will effect the entire story
Attack of the Clones & Empire Strikes Back = Both refer to the ruling Government taking action
Revenge of the Sith & Return of the Jedi = Both refer to the religious orders of the Force dominating.

Of course the titles are based on old serials that are cheesy and over the top. Does that limit them from following a larger rhythm?

No, and it was not my intention to come across as negative.

In general, I am kind of against the whole mirroring thing in the ST. In the long run, it can lead to repetition and easily foreseeable events. But as far as titles are concerned, yeah, you do have a point there. So, my apologies for not thinking the post through :)

May 19 to August 8 is 82 days.

Revenge of the Sith filmed for 80 days.

Therefore Episode 7 will be about a 2.5% increase in quality over ROTS.

Star Wars Episode VII: Rise of the Womp Rats

In a bizarre twist, JJ and the writers decide against the conventional Star Wars villain/s. Instead, they create a new trilogy, solely built around Luke's culling of the Womp Rat population, back on Tatooine.

The film starts with a rickety, old, smuggling ship, loaded with Womp Rats, sluggishly jumping into hyperspace. Very early on, we discover the terrifying reason for the show stopping, not to mention exhilarating opener, to the long awaited sequels. The rats who have been brooding for over 40 years and who are now an intelligent, self-aware, breeding menace; are enraged at the ageing Jedi Master, for the calculated destruction of their forefathers.

Needless to say, Episode VII becomes an instant hit and the sales of cuddly Womp Rat toys, go off the charts.

A 2.5% increase on the quality of ROTS would mean a Rottentomatoe score of 83% & a IMDB score of 8.0 ( rounded up ) so this is good news........

With JJ Abrams at the helm, I fully expect a 2.5% increase over ESB.
