....you ask questions about dates and canon relationships.

....you see someone make a good point/post here and think, "hey, that could be a good story." :p

    .....you somehow post here

......you start shipping certain SW characters because [face_whistling]

....you start with a page, then you run out of paper--you have no idea how this happened

...When you dream about many a juicy plot bunny, but none of them are developed enough to use as-is.

Last night's plot bunnies included becoming in cahoots with the yakuza, some teen horror movie satire, and one of my Pokemon suffering a massive head injury and my insistence to take it home and care for it anyway.

...you look longingly toward the shelf where the book you need for reference is located, wishing all the while that telekinesis worked in this galaxy. And you know full well how to spell "telekinesis" in order to bemoan its lack.

...when you can't sleep at night because a complete chapter of your fic has popped into your brain and you have to go through every last scene mentally to make sure it's good. Worse, when you don't like it so you go back and change it, still mentally, meaning that sleep is pushed back even longer. I was once awake until 1:30 AM revising a chapter of my fanfic mentally.

So have I. It's not uncommon if you've got too much time on your hands (i.e., unemployed) and your muse has kicked into overdrive. Heh.

...You dream about your fanfics. Not fics you could write or plot bunnies or anything like that. No, your old fics.

I dreamt that I found one of my old cringe fics. OH GOD WHY D:

I've got a few OCs that I would love to meet IRL...

...I guess that's another way to know you're a(n obsessive) fan fiction writer, amirite?

When you cry actual tears at the death or estrangement of one of your characters....even when you know the ending.

Oh, dear. That doesn't bode well for the future.
Though I've gotten close to this before. More just feeling sad, though, than actually crying about it.

Interesting. I'm now wondering if I'll experience that soon when I simultaneously kill three main characters in whom I have invested a lot of time and energy. I've been planning to kill them for a year now since I wrote the outline, but I'm still a few months away from actually writing the scene. It will either be that, or simply an intense feeling of satisfaction at a job well done, since two of them were essentially created for the express purpose of eventually dying in this scene.

Yeah, my PT/CW OC's death is gonna be tough when I write her. Actually, her servant's death is probably worse.

What's really gonna suck is when I write the scene when my PT/CW OC ends her friendship with Shaak Ti.

BTW....you know you're a fan fiction writer when you dread having to write depressing scenes like these.

Play around with POV with your character death. What is the goal of their death? Would it be more powerful from a peripheral POV? Sometimes the person least involved with the character can produce the strongest viewpoint in that they can describe the reactions of everyone around them. Work it!
