Star Wars has outgrown its creator George Lucas.

Chronological order. Messing that up ruins the Saga.

I've lost count of how many debates I've had with fans over the years, but I still love Jar Jar Binks. Fanboys condemned Lucas for placing such an over-the-top character into the series, and the PC leftists accused him of being racist with it, but I still adore that character. Ahmed Best doesn't get enough credit for his contribution, unlike Frank Oz, Anthony Daniels, or Kenny Baker (who wasn't even in Episode III).

I can also do a pretty decent impression of Jar Jar's voice, which makes people both laugh and groan at different times. My only gripe is that Lucas eventually caved into fan pressure, after so many years insisting "his vision" was the ultimate standard.

He didn't cave, there was just no more story for the Representative. (Is that like a Congressman?)

It's pretty obviously a raised middle finger to the haters to have included him at all. Especially in Sith where he even sneaks in a line.

I'm an old fan who grew up watching and waiting during the OT, and I love Jar Jar too.

Must be pretty weird for you then when the first movie you watch says "Episode IV"

Plenty of other people never had a problem with it (and it didn't always say that either).

But seriously, folks, let's not derail this thread with yet another viewing order debate.

But... it's not completely resolved! Can the fanbase realistically continue until we're all in 100% agreement on this issue?

Do I know what a rhetorical question is?

Yeah, Lucas wanted to add the subtitle and Episode number in '77, but the Fox execs pitched a fit. It was renamed in 1981, and has remained that way ever since.

A similar issue also led to Lucas quitting multiple guilds after "Empire" came out.

*I prefer Droids over The Clone Wars
*Revenge of the Sith was a completely rushed film that is by far the weakest of the saga and the most rushed storyline/ending and compresses the whole mythology as told by Obi-Wan into an hour long giggle fest.

This. I find Jango to be extremely underrated and Boba to be extremely overrated.

What I like about the prequel series is that it gave Boba Fett more character. I never really feel in love with the faceless bounty hunter who eventually became chow. There was no real character development for Boba. Plus Jango Fett was a cool assassin.

That Obi-Wan's complete lack of trust in Anakin is why he became Darth Vader.

Can you explain that, please? He was cautionary and wary of the boy's recklessness, yes. However, I don't think he lacked all trust in Anakin.
