Now that's an explanation I can accept. :D

So this conversation happened during dinner tonight:

Me: "Are either of you interested in seeing the Lego movie?"

    Both kids, in unison: "YES!!!"

So it looks like I'm seeing the Lego movie in theaters. [face_laugh] Maybe Sunday.

The decicred―a monetary unit worth one tenth of a standard credit―is equated to a dime, which is of course, one tenth of a US dollar. From that, I would say it's reasonable to assume that it's a 1:1 equivalency. On the other hand, it could just as easily be a case similar to the Basic language, wherein what representatively constitutes Basic is just whatever real-world language the viewer or reader is experiencing. Credits could very well be a 1:1 equivalency with any or every real-world currency as a fictional conceit.

The Death Star Designer online game had a stated value of at least a trillion credits for the first Death Star, and while there's no canonical number of any kind that I know of for the second Death Star, it's increased size, power, and weapons would suggest at least double the cost of the first.

^That's also largely the case with the Galactic Standard Calendar as well, as I recall. It's only about 3 more days than a standard year here on Earth (though number of weeks and months are different), and seconds, minutes, and hours are pretty much equivalent to those of our own world, meaning Coruscant's orbit roughly approximates that of Earth's.

As for the cost of the Death Star?

    Lots and lots of:
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Of course, what with the Empire being a galaxy-spanning government, trillions of credits probably is but a tiny fraction of the overall national treasury.

    Nope, actually it's my fault.
I think we agreed on pretty much everything being my fault since I un-liked Disney on Facebook.

I love this AU! The Millennium Falcon is a van now...
I wonder what the PT would be like in this artist's style, though.

I just saw the Lego movie. My cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. It's been awhile since someone made a movie that was just fun and silly and didn't take itself too seriously.

Whoever wrote the dialogue for that deserves an award.

Has anyone seen these videos? Disney x Star Wars musical crossovers. I thought they'd be cringeworthy, but they were actually very entertaining. Especially the second one.

Mon Mothma scares me. And so does Palpatine, but in a good way. ;)

Nah, Disney will just take the Brother Bear approach and hire Phil Collins to perform all the music.

And I got a promotion at work.

Circular Logic : I think Han's "Friend Like Me" is my favorite. Although the "Be Prepared" Order 66 was creepy as hell (in a good way) and Jar-Jar "Under the Sea" was hilarious.
