ST Official Casting Contest

    Hello folks and welcome to the Official Casting Contest!
    First, thanks mods for allowing me to do this and I hope everyone has fun.

    Before I get into how we play let me make a point of the number #1, unbreakable, may the mods have mercy on your account if you break it, rule: This thread is not for discussing casting rumors so if that’s what you want to do please go to the designated thread for that discussion. Thanks. :)

    So, with that out of the way let me explain how the contest works:

    Contest Rules:

    1. You are allowed one entry and you cannot change your answer once submitted
    2. You are allowed to submit as many or as few actors in your entry as you want
    3. No entry posted after the cast has been announced will be accepted
    4. No returning actors will be accepted
    5. In the event that there are individual casting announcements instead of one large one no actor announced can be submitted (I will of course accept them if they’re submitted before the announcement is made)
    6. You may submit any actor you choose even if they haven’t been rumored
    I will award a point for each correct name submitted but here’s the twist: To prevent anyone from simply posting all the actors who have been rumored I will deduct half a point for each wrong name submitted. So choose your names well!

    The contest will continue until filming begins in May by which point we should have the full cast and a winner(s) can be determined. The thread will then be locked by a mod.

    Oh and just a note: I will update the list of rumored actors if I remember any more or if any one else is rumored. I want to make sure it's a comprehensive list so you won't have to go scouring the interwebs for their names. :)

    Of the already rumored actors/actresses these are the ones I felt had the best shots of making the cut. While its likely some of these are compeating for the same role, sometimes the runner up gets offered another role hence why my list is longer than I feel it should be. That or I just can't make up my mind, lol.

    Edit: gonna be a good sport and like everyones bets. Just cause... ;)

    Let me know if you want those updates made via edits to your original post; probably best to keep it all in one place.

    And just to make sure everyone saw this part, you do realize Chiznuk "will deduct half a point for each wrong name submitted", right? Some lists are looking pretty long... maybe people are just very confident. :p

    I added roles because it helped me imagine a possible cast. I think it's possible we get a Han and Leia son too, but I'm unwilling to go with Driver or Effron at this point. I think it would be cool if we had two Solo daughters, their personalities opposite.

    You actually reminded me of a point I intended to make in my original post but forget: It's totally cool if you want to guess the characters the actors will be playing but it will not count positively or negatively to your overall score right or wrong. I wanted to make the point system as simple as possible so I don't have a dozen categories to have to calculate when the time comes to tally up the entries.

    And also I want to give credit to Dra--- for coming up with the idea of a contest and allowing me to run with it. :)

    Although I sense they will pull a "Superman vs Batman" (aka all the new cast members be people we never even thought of or knew were even being considered), if I had to guess I'd say:

    Benedict Cumberbatch


    Chiwetel Ejiofor


    Gary Oldman

    Jesse Plemons

    (even though I'm hesitant on the Plemons since I've seen dozens of times actors and directors confirming they've talked but then have nothing happened so thats kinda why I still think the people actually cast are those we dont know about but hey....its a fun contest so who knows :) )
