yeah, it was from 1989. He played a sort of badguy cop and had died blonde hair.

to each their own. I own it and actually like it. It's 80's sci-fi and Mark does a great job.

 

Mark saves the film kool-aid man style.

 

Working on another version. Concept: Luke has found the original Jedi Temple, which was in ruin on some old forgotten world. The temple is actually carved into a natural mountain formation and exists in harmony with the world around it (As opposed to the one built on Corruscant). With it's stone structure in ruin, it looks similar to the half finished Death Star - to show some mirroring of themes. Whereas Palpy wanted to build the Death Star, the ultimate weapon of destruction...Luke is setting out to build a new Jedi Temple and Order.

 

Great stuff.

Only thing is, I can see this more as a still from the movie and/or a production painting than a poster - but it's a damn fine concept.

 

Very cool work. One of the most well thought out pieces of 'fan art' for this film so far.

 

Agree with The Hellhammer: truly inspired concept. Love to see artists putting that kind of thought into their work.

It immediately gets my imagination going about Luke seeking the roots of the Jedi to get back to the basics.

I wonder if the planet where the Jedi first discovered how to use the Force, I believe Tython, which is slated to appear in the third episode of the upcoming Yoda arc in TCW, will make an appearance in the ST. I can imagine that the scenery wouldn't be too unlike what DarkGingerJedi came up with. Just with more trippy Force things, like floating platforms and rocks.

 

I'd love to see a preproduction piece as the poster. Love the concept, DarkGingerJedi. Great imagination.

Don't get fired from your gig at Lucasfilm by showing us TOO much

That looks more like an ad for a romance movie about the forbidden love between Luke and Thrawn.

I really like this, it gives a great sense of wonder and a large sense of scale while maintaining the Star Wars feel. Fantastic job!

 

Not sure if it's ok to post this in here...but...this supposed concept art that showed up today looks a bit like my fan poster. There's even a little stone spire in the center. Doubtful it's anything more than just a rock formation/canyon...but cool nonetheless..

 

DarkGingerJedi; love your creativity. Your ideas have a cool retro feel to them. I think Daft Punk would remix John Williams' score in your universe.
