Social Get In Line, NSA Edition - A Social Countdown to The Mandalorian and Grogu

I imagine it will be less darker than AOTC or ROTS. Especially if the reports are true that it's kind of a send off of Han, Luke and Leia. That or they end up being minor characters through the second and third films. I still want the lightsaber fights to be intense. The prequels rule in that aspect.

 

I do as well, but there are problems.

I expect it will be better than the PT but won't reach the highs of Empire

 

Does it need to? What happens if it surpasses Empire? I for one, hope the best SW films haven't been made yet, but will be.

 

Except for a perfect game in baseball.

I love all six films, but each one has its flaws. Empire isn't a perfect game, but I can admit that it's a two hit shutout while TPM is a 7+ inning outing with 3 earned runs and a win.

Hmph…I always thought of TPM as an 11-0 blowout in the fourth when you're rooting for the losing team. While AOTC was a game you were narrowing winning in the fourth inning which then got called due to rain.

Empire? Empire was winning gaming 7 of the ALCS vs. the Red Sox off of Aaron Boone's 11th inning home run.

(Actually, I believe the 2003 ALCS did have a "Star Wars" theme that year--with the Yankees being labeled the "Evil Empire" and all. And, well, we DID win. So the "Empire Strikes Back" comparison works on several levels.)

 

I have to admit that I vividly remember that game back in '03 and the Boone homer. I've never felt so bad for a team I didn't care about.

I'm sure the Yanks will have a splendid season starting soon.

 

Anyone else going to be watching The Academy Awards tomorrow night (or whenever time it's broadcast where you live)? Though I'm often out of the loop when it comes to many of the nominated films (especially this year), I still love to watch for the ridiculousness of it all.

I just bonded with the guy at the gas station over ESB (It was playing on his TV). I love being a nerd sometimes. It gives you an instant "in" with certain people.
