That would be my list as well. Raiders and Doom would be tied at #1 - I liked Mola Ram as a villain.

Crystal Skull- Still like it a lot, but Shia's character really drags it down.

I love all of the IJ movies, but if I have to rank them:

1) Raiders of the Lost Ark
2) The Last Crusade
3) Kingdom of the Crystal Skull -- Temple of Doom

To me Raiders was a great way to introduce the characters and Last Crusade an awesome way to expand the universe.
Kingdom had an interesting idea but it lacked some "depth"... Temple was fun, just fun

 

Crusade is one of my all-time favorite movies, and Raiders isn't too far down the list either. However I've never seen Doom all the way through and I don't feel like I need to. I've seen Skull in the theater and I thought it was okay but never re-watched it. So my rank is:

Skull
Doom

I also like the Young Indy Chronicles.

1. Raiders - Great film. I would watch it any time.
2. Crusade - Great film. I would watch it any time.
3. Temple - Good film. I would watch it if not much else is on.
4. Skull - SUCKS! I saw it once at the theater and doubt I will watch it again.

I sort of felt that way when I first saw it in theaters but with repeat views my opinion softened a lot on it.

 

This would probably be worthy of it's own thread, but what's everyone's favorite action scene in the series? All have amazing ones, but I've always been partial to TOD's mine cart chase, simply amazing.

Not much between the Last Crusade and Temple of Doom.

 

Has to be the intro to Raiders of the Lost Ark, that whole segment is iconic.

 

QFT. Also the whole chase scene after "I'm making this up as I go" when he's climbing around the truck full of wacky Nazis. Also the scene before that with the fight on the flying wing. Also the whole grail booby traps sequence. Also the tomb full of snakes. Maybe I should stop with the also's.

 

There's so many awesome moments throughout the series, you could spend all day listing them all.

 

I am sure you already know tthat Ford improvised that because he had a mild case of the runs when that scene was shot and he just wasn't up to the whole fight scene.

I honestly can't rank them separately, because I enjoy them equally, each one for being different from the next. That said, The Last Crusade is maybe my all-time favorite motion picture, period.

1. Raiders of the Lost Ark - the first and the best hands down. Perfect serial fun.
2. Last Crusade - love Sean Connery and the interplay between him and Ford. Plus Sallah as a bonus.
3. Temple of Doom - can drag at times and a little over the top on the gross factor (dinner scene) but still a great movie.
4. Crystal Skull - yes I liked it but a little too much CGI. If you fast forward most of the Jungle scene, it's a much better film.

 

Same, I find each one is special in it's own way.

 

Let's throw this new rumour into the mix shall we.... thoughts?

And as for ranking the current 4, it's tough for me as they are all great in their own way, but I will go with...

1) Raiders Of The Lost Ark
2) The Last Crusade
3) Temple Of Doom
4) Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

But, there's only a few points between them, I do enjoy them all as adventures in their own right and era.

 

I'm stoked to hear two more movies are planned, just hope pre-production can begin by next year and both can be out by maybe 2016. Got to get on it before Ford gets too old.

 

If they make two more, I wonder what the final quest for Indy will be like? I think something epic in scope like the Lost City Of Atlantis would be amazing for the finale.
