CONTEST Predict the cumulative total screentime of "The Big 3" in Episode 7!

Y'know, even with that, I still can't see their screentime clearing an hour. There's bad guys and universe and next gen characters to set up. I would even think with them being the "focus" it still won't average out to as much as they're on screen in the OT.

My original prediction was about 40 min in a 2 hr movie, maybe 55 now.

 

Prior to this information I voted less than 50, I was thinking about 40 cumulative. If this information is correct (though it seems pretty dubious at the moment) I would say that perhaps goes up to more like and hour, maybe slightly over for the same reasons BigAl6ft6 describes in his post.

Has anyone taken the time to count of the big 3's time in each of the OT films? I'd like to know how it compares in reality to what my gut says.

Zero minutes. The 'big three' rumours are a massive false flag operation.

 

I've had similar thoughts. But what would be the benefit of jerking around the fans? I can't imagine Disney wanting to get people's expectations up for no reason.

I went with "less than 30" because I hope they'll just be there to bookend the story. Show up at the start, send the new cast off on their journey ... and then come to the rescue when it all goes the hell.

 

Doesn't that really weaken the new characters, though? On the very first adventure we see them undertake, they need the old folks to come and save the day? Don't get me wrong, I'd watch Luke play the role of hero all day every day, I just don't see them going with a storyline that sets up the new trio as weak.

 

Eh, I don't think so. I was thinking more like the rescue at the end of AOTC. Yoda rescued all the Jedi. Then he saved Anakin and Obi Wan, but I wouldn't say that they were weakened. And Yoda's the oldest of the "old folks," 900 years and all that. I dunno, was just the first thing that came to mind.
