I almost picked Turr myself, he is a true second rounder and is a steal right now, but I still had cohesion and didn't want to ruin it just yet. You on the other hand.....

    alrighty... breakdowns for you peeps.

I go by a grading scale, C is average (for cohesion it means you have neutral cohesion in my opinion, nothing good, nothing bad. To get good cohesion you need people that have actually flown together, not just wouldn't fight or are merely on the same side.)

    Mika

    1. Luke Skywalker
    2. Pash Cracken
    3. Kyp Durron
    4. Aril Nunb
    5. Jake Farrell

    Skill: A

Getting Aril in the fourth, when that's really who RX should have taken, is a pretty big steal I think. She definitely should have been gone if everyone was picking well. The rest of your squad is pretty good on the skill department, with the one I personally think of as number 1 in Luke.

    Experience: A

Everyone but Aril has oodles of it this on this squad.

    Force: B

Not really enough to make the biggest difference, but Kyp and Luke going in as a wing pair would be pretty bad for everyone on the opposing sides really. If you pick up two more Jedi pilots to pair with them and have two wingpairs operating that way you'll have a very strong advantage there I think.

    Cohesion: B

You have some decent links here with people that have flown together, or can get in on the meld. But it's also not be all end all in my opinion either.

    Intangibles: A

Everyone in on your side respects Luke and will listen to him. Pash is there to lend in some experience as a second in command as well. The only hiccup could be Kyp, but everything has been pretty well patched up there overall I think.

    Overall: B++

You have a top contender, but I think you may have goofed on taking Jake when there's one very specific pilot that could have augmented a few things much better. Not huge, but also keeping you from being an A to me.

    RX

    1. Wedge Antilles
    2. Saesee Tiin
    3. Derek "Hobbie" Klivian
    4. Myn Donos

    Skill: A+

Would have nearly been an A++ if you'd landed Aril, but Hobbie and Saesee where you got them pretty well guarantees that A+. Just really high value across the board here.

    Experience: A+

You have “I have flown forever” Wedge, the Jedi's career pilot, and Hobbie who has been around forever. Even Myn has a pretty decent amount of experience, just when compared to the others... well most people are going to come up short there.

    Force: C

Saesee is decent, however he has no playmates. But if anyone's going to know how to use the Force while flying it'd be him.

    Cohesion: B

Wedge and Hobbie is about as good as it gets, but no one here knows who Saesee is much less having flown with him, and Hobbie and Myn haven't done anything together, and may not even know each other. What you have is good, but what you're missing keeps this from being higher in my book.

    Intangibles: A

Everyone here has been a leader at one time or another, they'll know the importance of paying attention to one voice. I think Wedge definitely has the chutzpah to get Saesee to fall in line, especially with Myn and Hobbie vouching for him.

    Overall: A

Definitely one of the contenders. Keep doing what you're doing and we'll be seeing you in the playoffs with good numbers. Maybe even without.

    Mitth

    1. Tycho Celchu
    2. Shanwkyr Nuruodo
    3. Corran Horn
    4. Hohass “Runt” Ekwesh

    Skill: C

Oh Mitthy... You have pretty much only one person who went where they should have (or is a steal, depending on how you rate him) and that's Corran. You really should have picked up Baron Fel over Tycho since you were in position to get one of the prime four characters. With the rest of your squad I can't recommend Vader at all. Shankyr probably could have waited til round 7 without a huge amount of difficulty, and Runt pretty much shoudn't even be drafted.

    Experience: A

I'll give you this, you have experience. Runt's really the only issue you have here, but Runt... is a Runt with pretty much everything.

    Force: C-

Corran is decent, but again no playmates. He was also did most of his flying without using the Force and we really don't see him flying much after he learned to use it.

    Cohesion: B-

Tycho and Corran flew together, but Runt and Shawnkyr are pretty well the odd ones out without much of anything going for them here.

    Intangibles: B+

You have a very clear cut leader that everyone here should be very willing to follow. Tycho just isn't one of the absolute top tier leaders though. But you do also have some of the bonuses of Runt's rather unique personality issues as he can help plan things better than most people would really think.

    Overall: C+

You have some pieces... but really the best you can try and do with this is try to play spoiler.

    COH

    1. Anakin Skywalker
    2. Jagged Fel
    3. Obi-Wan Kenobi
    4. Saba Sebatyne
    Skill: B

You have two that really should have waited a bit, and two that went exactly where they should have in Anakin and Saba. Jagged is a third rounder in my mind with only eight squads. He's always goes early, which would be why I've only had him once and then he didn't perform great being beat be a couple people taken after him. Obi-Wan should have been taken in the late fourth, maybe early fifth in my book. He just doesn't really have it in the piloting realm so well. Unfortunately pretty middle of the road.

    Experience: B

Anakin is about the best you have here. Jagged is kind of limited to mainly the NJO and the escapades he had with Jaina and Zekk, which is why he typically goes to a squad with those two on them. Obi-Wan just never flew all that much, deferring to Anakin whenever he could (at least as far as I'm aware), and Saba... well, she has those mysterious 50 missions that we don't know anything about in the Vong War (a lot of which was actually in a blastboat) and then some sporadic flying after, but none of them are really career pilots other than Jagged.

    Force: A-

Anakin and Obi-Wan flying together is really great, and their using the Force together should work really well. Saba is also very capable, having worked with with the barabel squad that she put together knows a lot about melding, so she should be able to function with the other two Jedi quite well. The only potential issue is if Saba's very different mindset causes issues, but I doubt that it will.

    Cohesion: B+

Anakin and Obi-Wan is great, but the others really don't know much about each other or them. Saba has never flown with Jagged once to the best of my memory. They don't bring it down, but they aren't really adding anything either.

    Intangibles: B

Anakin is both a benefit and a problem. He has a history of driving Obi-Wan nuts, and Jagged (during his flying time) was very straight laced and by the book for the most part. Sure, he loosened up later, but he hasn't done any flying really since that's happened. He was able to deal with Jaina and trickster squadron, though, but I don't see him adding much here just as he didn't add that much there beyond skill. And Saba I could see doing pretty much the same thing that Anakin does to Obi-Wan, just to a slightly lesser degree. But they should definitely have some interesting ideas and strategies.

    Overall: B+

Definite potential here, with the right picks and numbers you can make the playoffs.

    Run

    1. Wes Janson
    2. Mara Jade Skywalker
    3. Lando Calrissian
    4. Plourr Ilo

    Skill: D+

Unfortunately no one here went when they should have at all. Plourr is pretty much barely worth drafting with eight squads, Lando is a fifth rounder pretty much, although to me he's a bit lower. Mara is a late third/early fourth and Wes is pretty much a solid mid round second. While I love all of these characters, they just don't have the skill to really make a huge dent against most of the other squads.

    Experience: C-

Wes is the only one here with an even remotely decent amount of experience. Mara flew fairly intermittently, Lando had a droid fly for him a lot of the time, unless he was in combat (which honestly never made sense to me at all), and Plourr only had a few series of comics that she was in before she had to go be a princess.

    Force: C

Mara isn't much on her own sadly.

    Cohesion: B+

Wes and Plourr flew together while she was there, and Mara and Lando have done so a couple times as well.

    Intangibles: A

These are all extremely creative people that tend to get along with others pretty well. You have extreme diversity of thought coming form Wes, Mara and Lando, and they could definitely do some things no one else would see coming. Unfortunately they probably won't ever get the chance to.

    Overall: D+

A dearth of skill and experience really sink this squad's chances, but you have some of the most fun characters in the Star Wars universe. Have fun imagining the planning meetings they'd have, I know I will.

    DE

    1. Soontir Fel
    2. Gavin Darklighter
    3. Keyan Farlander
    4. Inyri Forge

    Skill: A-

Inyri could have waited as there were several pilots that you should have taken before her, Aril being the main one. The other three are about as good as you could have done where you got them (other than not taking Vader, but that's neither here nor there considering it'd dictate a very different team).

    Experience: A

Everyone here has the “career” pilot tag on them, kinda hard to not get an A for that. The only issues is Soontir against the likes of Wedge or Luke, but really no one touches Wedge here.

    Force: Z

What's this Force you speak of?

    Cohesion: C+

The only two that did anything together that I'm aware of was Gaving and Inyri. I mean, no one here is going to be fighting or anything, but there's just not much that's really helping them be terribly familiar with each other when in the air either.

    Intangibles: A

Fel took the Emperor's laughingstock squadron and molded them into an elite unit. He knows how to lead, there is no question of that. After his defection there is no chance anyone here is not following him. They also all are military people, they know discipline, but they also know how to be creative within that.

    Overall: A

One of the top contenders as well, this is a well put together squad. The only thing I'd like to see moving forward would be some actual cohesive links between your current pilots, but otherwise just keep doing what you're doing.

    heels

    1. Darth Vader
    2. Han Solo
    3. Turr Phennir
    4. Adi Gallia

    Skill: A/A+

Oh hey, it's a me squad. You have pretty much killer skill here, and frankly I can't believe you got Vader where you did. Han is really good as well, but throwing cohesion to the wind, I wish you'd grabbed Gavin instead. I think he's just slightly better than Han is. But everyone else, yea... you weren't getting better value no matter what you dead. Good job cherry picking over the list.

    Experience: B

Han is really the best you have here, but he's... not dependable in this department depending on if the judges are taking his time in the Falcon into account or not. Personally, I do (it's really the only way to make Lando useful in my opinion). Vader... we know is stupidly skilled, but he's just mildly difficult on the experience end of things. Adi was a Jedi, and while we have Jedi Starfighter that suffers a bit from video game syndrome. And Phennir, well we know he's flown a lot, but we only really see what he does against the Rogues. It's good experience, but he's also just not shown onscreen as much as you'd want.

    Force: B+

Well, you have one of the mack daddy pilots for it in Vader, and Adi is going to be able to do some interesting things as well, but there ain't much of any way they're linking. That kinda hurts the Force use with what you have so far.

    Cohesion: F

Vader and Phennir weren't on the greatest terms, Vader and Han actively hate each other, Han and Phennir would never get along, and Vader's going to know who Adi is and... well, there's just absolutely no mitigating this. Don't go to teams. At least Han and Adi won't be at each other's throats.

    Intangibles: B

You have creative thinking coming from Han, not sure who'll listen to it, but you never know quite what he's going to pull out of that bag of tricks he has. Then there's Adi's creative Force use while flying that most people aren't going to really know how to react to.

    Overall: A-

Don't go to teams and you can win. You'll probably make the playoffs (but be fighting Sey for that spot pretty much) and lose to either DE, RX or Mika's teams.

    Sey

    1. Jaina Solo
    2. Maarek Stele
    3. Jacen Solo
    4. Ooryl Qyrgg

    Skill: A+

Like I've already said, to me Jaina has hit the point that she's basically even with Anakin, with Tycho just EVER so slightly behind to the point that it makes almost no difference. To get Jaina and Stele is just an absolute steal as he's right there with that entire group as well in pure skill. Add in Jacen and Ooryl where you got them, which is steals as well, and you have probably the best straight skill team going for you here. I still rank Ooryl as one of the top 20 best pilots in this, and think it's kind of sad how many times he's been voted over in the last few drafts. (Shame on everyone else who could actually use Ooryl for letting him slip to this spot. Seriously, bottom second round talent should not fall this far.)

    Experience: A

Jacen is the only hole here, but what he has is exceptional. Otherwise you have some of the best experience that it's possible to have, with knowledge of pretty much every type of opponent that there could be ranging from the Imperials to the Vong.

    Force: A

Three amazing Force users in the cockpit. It's a shame none of them will be using it together.

    Cohesion: D-

Yea... I think you pretty well saw this one coming. Jaina may still love Jacen, but there is no way that they're getting along at all. Stele and Ooryl would pretty much never get along either. While there's nothing negative coming from Stele/Ooryl in relatino to Jaina/Jacen, there's nothing positive there either. The ONLY positive you really have right now is that Jaina and Jacen know each other, and have flown together a fair amount. Just don't go to teams. Not sure how you salvage this either... anyone that's going to work with anyone is going to be in the dog house of at least one of your major players, if not two.

    Intangibles: B

Lots of creativity here, but there's... going to be leadership issues I think. None of your top three are going to want to subordinate themselves to the others, and that's going to leave Ooryl with a problem of his own. The positives are that they'll always have unique ideas, the negatives... are the arguing.

    Overall: A/A+

So much going for you here, I didn't realize exactly what you'd gotten away with on this until I analyzed it somewhat seriously. Look for unorthodox picks would be my recommendation, that's the only way to salvage your cohesion. Otherwise you'll be fighting for one of the top spots.

    Outside thoughts:

I can really see this one coming down to three teams right now, Mika, Sey, and RX. You've all made excellent picks so far, for what you're doing, and if you can keep getting this kind of value only amazingly terrible numbers will sink any of you.

I would also like to officially say welcome to the new people, and that I'm glad you all are taking part. Just view this as a learning experience, basically everyone takes their lumps the first time around. Hopefully you can have some fun with it, as that's the most important thing.

hi KenKenobi. the trade rule you caused to be in effect created a few problems last draft. :p

I caused a trade rule? I was hoping for a more Mark Cuban-y "got Han Nowitzki his first title" kind of legacy but I'll take it.

yea, the draft you won through the silly amount of trades made it so there could only be two trades per GM next draft. however... what was never established was if it was two complete trades, or just trading two people, which is what caused problems in the last draft. there was also a no draft pick trading policy instituted because of the draft you won as well.

you, sir, have had an impact.

Bit surprised that Vil Dance, Piggy, Garven Dries, Asyr and Falynn Sandskimmer haven't been picked up yet when we're down to Jake Farrel territory
