ST "Ultimately it's about twins"...?

Hm, brother's war. What if the twins fight all the time and everyone is worried that they fall to the darkside? Meanwhile the third Jedi-padawan, the closest friend of the twins, is forgotten because of the attention-garnering twins. The third Jedi falls to the darkside and now the twins have to work together to defeat her/turn her back.

Just stupid ideas.

If throughout the entire ST the Skywalker offspring never ever struggles with the conflict between light and dark at some particular moment seems like a missed opportunity. It's kind of in their genes. Maybe not make it the total push of the the ST but there has to be that "Looking at the mechanical hand" good/evil balance moment. That's, like, a core tenet of the series.

Princess Leia Organa is not Leia Skywalker. Kenobi and Yoda allowed Luke to believe this in order to protect his true sister should Luke fail.

And yes, Dra--- , the "real" Leia followed the path of darkness... And she will have had the rizzo twinz!!!

I'm assuming this is referring to Anakin (doesn't make sense if its Luke)

 

I like the idea that the father is Leia's adoptive father, so Luke or Leia will "take a path towards darkness" and the other will blow up when their planet is bombarded from orbit.

I'm open to twins (again), I suppose, but the one twin falling while the other remains "pure" is a SW story I've already read (and frankly, it wasn't done all that well, to begin with). Could it be make to work? Sure. Almost any idea can be done well in skilled enough hands.

But I'll reiterate my preference for two cousins, in the mold of Ben Skywalker and Jaina Solo, working to face the darkness together. I'd rather we see a child of each Skywalker in the next generation heroes.

And incidentally (or maybe not so incidental), I'd also prefer they stay just that -- protagonist heroes. It's just that I'd rather none of the SkySolos fall to the dark side in the ST. Luke or Leia's child is tempted tempted, before the other helps to call their cousin back from the precipice? Sure, I could see it. It'd be in keeping with the Skywalker way, too. But I hope they leave the family out of the dark side antagonist(s) business this time.

One (supposedly) will follow a dark path. The other choice is the vaguely put "fathers footsteps," which seems to imply a positive path.

 

Or it could mean one uses the darkside like Ventress did and managed to not cross over completely. Sort of like a cross between a Jedi and a Sith, but with intentions of getting things done through violence instead of negotiating for a peaceful solution.

 

You shouldn't take it seriously, the twins thing is from the first casting call leak, with jacen and jaina.

and they added in cumberbach, and Oldman because those are very popular casting choices.

As for the casting confirmations, the trades haven't backed them up.

The same with the two indiana Jones movies.

 

And something like that, I think could work well. Flirting with the dark side, before finding his or her way back could be cool.

What I really don't care to see is one twin (or cousin) falling to the dark side, while the other is forced to eliminate him or her. No thank you.

I want to see "Ben and Jaina" (and by extension, both lines of the Skywalker family) to ultimately have to work together to defeat the evil, not be in opposition to one another.

 

This, pretty much. But I would also buy into where one twin is conservative and decides to lead a split faction of Jedi that do things differently, and the other twin tries to lead a more liberal group that's not so loyal to the Republic.
