Saga Unpopular Star Wars opinions!

I've got several 'unconventional' (unpopular) opinions about the Saga:
* There's nothing wrong with Jar Jar
* Anakin's fall to the Dark Side and all of the circumstances that surrounded and led up to it are both believable and realistic
* Anakin did not need to be older in The Phantom Menace
* Anakin and Padme's romance is a highlight of Attack of the Clones

 

The Stormtroopers are clones.

 

Yoda should have never been green.

 

Wasn't he blue in the Marvel adaptation of ESB?

Don't think so - but he was blue in the ESB novelization and in early ESB concept art.

 

Panaka is more annoying than Jar Jar.

 

There shouldn't be a such thing as canon, everyone should have their own canon.

More purple, but I think that's a limitation of the comic coloring techniques.



That was based on the concept art. The comic adaptation had to be made in advance of the film.

 

The B1 battle droids are funnier than Jar Jar.
A majority of the EU is cool.

Subsequent prints of Marvel TESB redid Yoda to look more like the movie version - the "A Long Time Ago" Omnibus version looks noticably more movie-ish.

 

CGI and bluescreen/greenscreen are better than non-CGI and actors on set.

 

Another unconventional/unpopular opinion:
Anakin Skywalker (not Darth Vader - Anakin Skywalker) is one of the greatest characters in the franchise, and Hayden Christensen delivers a performance that deserves to be appreciated to a much greater degree than it is.

 

That all characters are grey and worthy of redemption. That the war between the Rebels and Empire should've been handled very differently.

So it wasn't the dark side blinding him, it was the pot smoke clouds?

 

that Star Wars handles good and evil in wartime pretty horribly; I'd rather debate the moral qualms and issues for myself than basically be flat out told, "These guys are good. Root for them."

 

Only the OT does that. The PT is very grey.

 

It was the dank side.

 

The whole Saga is grey but they do try to force a black/white view.

 

The prequel trilogy is better than the original trilogy.

The Clone Wars is boring because it's full of meaningless violence. The action sequences feel empty.
