ST Set construction , how many and how big?

Given that its confirmed that filming begins in May, set construction will be almost completed. Given JJ s love of utilising real settings to double as other worldly locations , with very mixed results , what do folks think will be the balance of full , partial sets as opposed to green screen. And do we think we will see the use of the large sound stages that were used more prominently in the OT ( Death Star hanger bay , rebel base Hoth or the Dagobah set which i still think looks fine and holds up well etc) if so wild guess of what these large sound stage sets might be.

 

With Pinewood Studios being as huge as it is, I suspect there will be a a healthy mix of both full and partial sets, with significantly less green screen than the PT (it still boggles my mind how much of the PT was green screen...even the flippin floors were green screen!). Heck, it's already been strongly suggested that a full-scale Millennium Falcon has been built (interior and exterior), which I'm extremely happy about.

 

1. How many? A lot of them.
2. How big? Gargantuan.

 

Anyone live near Pinewood Studios? I charge thee to stalk the place and steal photos. Go.

 

They're bound to be utilizing the 007 stage, right? They can construct something pretty massive in there.

 

How so?
Im sure the sound stages will house hangers, interiors, ships etc.
Locations and exteriors will be shot on location/outside.

 

I really hope they utilize full sets when they can. I also hope that they don't settle for CGI for something that could've easily been built, or showed up as such in the OT.

 

It's so damn big, there's only one contractor they can properly utilize!

 

I didn't mind the green screen in the PT. Considering they are going back to the OT style i should imagine that anything that does not need to be green screened would be constructed, so i would say a massive chunk of stages and sets have been built.

 

I was referring to the industrial/ brewery that doubled as the engineering area I think in the new trek movies, which in my opinion looked a bit Blake seven and took me out of the movie. But I do hope to see large sets.
