    She was awesome in Deep Space Nine and fantastic in Arrow - in which she is one of the 3 most awesome TV mothers (I choose to ignore Voyager:p)

    Cut from the same cloth as Hammil, Ford and Fisher (even originally up for the part of Leia). All signs point to JJ and co. revisiting early, unused ideas for the original Star Wars, and casting Spacek would be a great throwback in keeping with that.

    It's possible Luke could have a wife that's only mentioned in Ep VII and revealed in the next episode.

    One for the: would be awesome but is never gonna happen file: Allison Janney (age 54).

    She is established, and mad talented, but not associated with any particular role. She disappears into her characters, and is in wicked shape. And has on-screen chemistry with basically everyone.
