I can think of at least one likely place.

 

I hope this series concludes logically and happily. Was not a fan of the ending of III. I have IV but have yet to play it.

 

I don't think they have any plans to conclude it at all.

I liked Brotherhood a lot the second time I played through it. Revelations, despite the bad rap that it gets, is also a pretty great sendoff for Ezio.

 

Oh yes. I loved Revelations because of the time and place it was set. Beautiful.

 

New teaser trailer out, looks like the next AC is French Revolution. Hopefully they have something to replace the naval battles instead of just city running.

 

I little hoped it would be a bit earlier in France, during Loius XIII, with the conflict going on with the Hugenotts (La Rochelle) and Spanish, with a little Buckingham flair and Richelieu being the main antagonist. Like the assassin being a fromer musketeer or member in Richelieu's guard. But the French Revolution era is terrific too in terms of story setting.

 

This is gonna be really cool. Looks awesome with the screenshots I've seen. And please, no naval battles this time, I've had enough.

 

I was hoping this would be set in the future where dragons and zombies ruled the Earth, so you could get into epic dragon battles with the zombie Templars.

 

They've stated that 5 won't have any naval battles, though it's not yet clear if they meant this game or the next numbered one.

 

Assassin's Creed: Unity, huh? I actually, unfortunately, feel burned out from having an AC game every year. Can't find it in myself to get really excited, though I have been looking forward to a French Revolution game.

I hated that they retconned Lucy into being a Templar.

 

So the time line surges forward, at this point where else can they go and continue to move forward? Or will they go backwards? I also hated that AC 3 didn't give us a concrete ending. It concluded Desmond but not the whole story so for fans hoping for a clean break, they were out of luck.

 

As posted earlier, the Assassin/Templar conflict had lasted centuries, so there's no reason to expect it would've ended in the present or near future. I guess whenever you find men that crave wealth, power and the need to control their fellow men, the Templars will survive. And thus there will always be resistance in the form of Assassins. So yeah, this franchise could last forever, but boy if I'm tired of it by now.

 

I was thinking both would join to take down Juno in a future sequel.

I think so. It was explained in DLC for Revelations.

Bought that DLC purely to be sad over what happened to Clay. Enjoyed it, though it should have been $5/£4 since it's gameplay wasn't regular AC.
