Wraith said nothing as he leveled his targeting visor at the retreating forms of the twi’lek and his scantily clad female companion. He continued to scan them in the darkside until they had disappeared from sight. It seemed there was nothing ‘unusual’ emanating from them, unlike Sledon, whom the red twi’lek did address instead of Senator Tesslor. How intriguing.

“Did I hear you say you were going to the Senate Chamber?” the male twi’lek had said.

Fortunately, Wraith had determined that the twi’lek , although hiding behind a door, would be able to hear that clearly enough, which did nothing to reduce Wraith’s suspicious nature. None-the-less, the twi’lek did have a point.

Wraith scanned through the security datapad provided and searched to confirm that an emergency session was indeed still scheduled, alternate routes to the Senate Chamber, confirmation that the lift in their area were to remain active and also requested a positive ID and security checks on individuals matching the description of the twi’lek male and his female companion.

He also did not fail to note he’d gotten no answer to his direct question regarding the couple, from either the Senator of his aide. Oh, yes, things were getting interesting indeed.

“Give me a security update, stat.” He said aloud, this was of course, in addition to the inquiries he’d already made.

Still doing his security checks, Wraith did not move to enter the lift yet, as he needed confirmation from central regarding their options. He also continued to block the Senator and his aide from moving forward, at least for the moment.

No, you don’t get to die—at least not yet. He mused inwardly.

To Kiza, he asked: “Are they evacuating the entire building, or just this section?”

    'STURDY SUCKER!!'

It was the thought that ran thought Rasa's mind, as she had attempted to bounce the droid off the ceiling, onto the floor. It had landed back on its feet, and had done some damage to the ceiling. Its body swayed as it did. The head was still attached, but while the head was facing towards her, the body was facing the other way. Well, that was a start at least. Unfortunately, she also noticed that the weapon it seemed to be holding remained lit. It's neck was sparking at least.

In the background, she heard Lord Nelf moaning about something, but she was not about to turn around to see what it was, while she had this thing in front of her. "I rrreallly HATE thesse drrroids!" Rasa exclaimed, as she moved fast. She had to be quick, for if not, that thing was most likely going to use its weapon, and from the energy arcing from it, Rasa was not willing to find out what it did. So far, this was the third droid in this place, and each time, they had not been the most friendly of things. At least its back was towards her, which might, or might not mean it could not effectively use that lance thing against her.

    "ROOOAAARRRRR!!"

Rasa had reached her point. With a challenge roar, she moved forward, and held her weapon hidden, until at the last moment, she flicked her lightsaber to life, before swinging her blade, to do her best to remove its head, and part of its shoulder and arm off, in a tight diagonal slash. She had originally given thought to simply slicing off its head, but the dang thing might still be able to work without it, so she wanted to at least cripple it somewhat, before it could do anything else.

As she moved, she also registered to her, that it was a bit more lighter here. Was there an doorway or something open? If there was, she was intending on sending the droid out of it. But she remembered, as her claws extended to be careful. She had smelt that lubricating fluid earlier. She did not wish to be the thing to go sliding out, instead of her intended target.

With its head facing the young Cathar, the droid saw her last minute diagonal slash with the suddenly revealed lightsabre, but it was too late for the droid to do anything about it, for it too, had already started its own counter-attack.

It stepped backwards with one foot, closer to her, putting it side-on with the padawan, and the lower point of the now horizontal electrostaff was thrust hard at her midriff, even as the tip of her lightsaber delivered a glancing blow to the droid's duranium-plated left shoulder, leaving a shallow molten furrow in the toughened grey metal.

Behind her, Nelf had levered himself up onto a damp, fungus covered chair, trying to catch his breath, "Give us a shout if you need any assistance, Kiddo."

He hoped he didn't get piles from this damp chair.

The empty ferrocrete plaza outside one of the Senate Building's evac doors, had been checked and cleared by a series of Arakyd Viper style floating droids, and Control now knew it was safe for the diplomatic staff to be let out into.

Doors unlocked at ground level, and blue robed Senate Guards directed the multitude of humans and aliens to file out to their designated evacuation points.

    Security Control

One of three workers in the permacite-reinforced command pod that oversaw the network of Blue Senate Guard, had fielded calls from dozens of senators, aides, and bodyguards, before the queued call from Seldon's guard came through to his headset.

"Give me a security update, stat."

Markon checked his recent logs. "Sorry to keep you waiting, sir. There was an explosion aboard one of the senator's yachts, while it was parked in the North Quadrant hangar. We are evacuating personnel and diplomats from the South Quadrant Ground Entrance, so that security personnel can investigate the incident."

    Well.. THAT was interesting!

As Rasa brought her lightsaber down in her slash attack, the dang droid had stepped backwards, TOWARDS her, it was now side on with her, and the dang thing now thrust at her midsection, even as she had struck her blow. Rasa was shocked when her saber barely put a dent in the thing. She would have to disagree with a bit of the history she had heard about robots of the day. But she had other things to worry about right now. Rasa snarled in defiance.

Cathar reflexes enhanced by the Force, yelled at her to MOVE IT before the tip of that sparking glowstick made its mark. Her fur stood on end, as the thing moved its weapon towards her. Rasa leaped backwards, as she once again called upon the Force to shove the thing back into the other section. Since she had smelled lubricant coming from the area it came from, she hoped the floor would be slick, and it would find it difficult to stay on its feet.

"Give us a shout if you need any assistance, Kiddo." She heard Lord Nelf call out from behind her. Rasa's ears went back. Well, guess this was going to be counted as a 'learning experience.' Rasa growled back, "Lightssaberrr's rrresistant?" she asked him, as she moved, looking to see how the droid reponded to her latest attack. She then began to move forward once more, not wanting the thing to catch on to what she planned next.

IC: Kiza - Galactic Senate Building - Coruscant

The woman looked rather confused. Probably from all the air her skin was busy sucking up through her slave-girl metal and barely there silks. Kiza had to admit, if the attempt at the costume was to take a male's mind off of whatever else might be important, then it most likely succeeded. But the collar around the woman's neck made her suspicious. Still, the woman seemed quick enough to want to take the lift. She stammered her thanks, and then with an almost laughable motion, stretched herself up on tiptoe, to pointedly call past the quartet to her twi'lek companion, "Red, I've got us a turbolift!" Red? Kiza's gaze slid over to watch as the red twi'lek moved up just a bit. Looking rather agitated himself, he quickly reached in between everyone to quickly extract the woman from the lift, excusing himself as he moved. She did note that he seemed to have enough sense to stand just far enough away from the senators, and he removed his addled partner from the contraption. He then berated her about using such a device during an emergency. Obviously he didnt know about certain procedures within the Senate. True, not all turbolifts were operational, the ones that were, were working for a reason. Kiza also noted that Wraith moved every so slightly, to make sure the Senators did not move towards the lift with them either. If the woman was a Senator, then Kiza felt for whatever delegation she was with. Then red twi'lek quickly moved, scoping up his companion, to then spin on his heels to move towards the nearby stairwell. He paused, and then faced Sledon..NOT Senator Tesslor, and spoke. "Did I hear you say you are going to the Senate Chamber? Are you sure that is the right place to be going as the rest of this place is evacuated?" Interestingly enough, he did not wait for instead, but instead moved as he slid across the glass covered flooring, as another being, a Barbabel ran past them. He then deposited the female through the stairwell door. Interesting. Why was he so sure the building was being evacuated? After all, the Senate buildings was one of the more sturdier structures within the sector. But Sledon didnt seem to care about any of it. At first, he was angry after the explosion. Now what? Indifference perhaps? Kiza could feel Sledon's self important feeling of worth all but ooze from him, as he turned to speak to the moving Twi'lek. "It is most unlikely that the entire place is being evacuated. Most likely, just the section closest to the blast area. Would be rather messy, to say the least. Besides, there was a big debate and meeting scheduled, so unless they take down the entire building, I dont think they are going to postpone that. It's far too important." Not it was Kiza's turn to look over towards Senator Tesslor, as she picked up a most peculiar feeling coming from, not the rash Sledon, but the senior Senator. The feeling of amusement coming off of him suddenly was curious. Did he know something that Sledon did not? Most likely, but this felt quite unusual from the usually stoic Senator. Kiza almost smiled. Either way, as long as Sledon's mouth was moving, he usually wasnt doing something too inept.

Meanwhile, Wraith was speaking to his comlink. “Give me a security update, stat.” He said aloud into his comlink system, even as Kiza was busy tapping the datapad she carried, checking on the current schedules. Re-routes, alternate entries noted, heightened security, and and few things had been changed on the schedule. But the Senator's main meeting was still scheduled to go on as schedule, she quickly noted. “Are they evacuating the entire building, or just this section?” Wraith asked Kiza. She looked over at Wraith. "Check your visor log." she told him, as she moved to send the updated schedule now listed, to his comlink she had given him earlier. She also saw a flash about the explosion, and that they would be investigating it shortly. She would like to hear the results of that bit of news herself. Had the explosion been on board the ship, with its fuel pods, it would have taken out the area, personal shields or not. That was more of an attention grabber. Very much like the attack on Sledon's quarters, which from what the security teams there were now telling her, it was pretty much toast. This was going to be a pain. She could not go away to take care of any business now, for the Senate would most likely keep the entire security team busy for awhile. Especially when they found out about Sledon's quarters as well. The Senator's quarters were located elsewhere, but she wondered if his place needed to be scanned as well. Kiza looked up at the two Senators. "Senator Tesslor, according to specs, this lift is still functioning, and in service. The others nearby are being shunted, to assist in moving others away from area, and to get security squads here quickly. The delegation knows of what has occurred and are awaiting your presence in the meeting. So far everyone else seems to be there. But, the blast could have been a rouse, to make you defer to another turbolift. So we can either take one further along, or we prepare " Kiza informed him. He looked towards the lift, and then back towards the area they had come from. "Then, I say we take whatever it might be head on, and use the lift anyways. Im not walking all over the blasted concourse, looking for shadows behind every column and statue." Kiza gave a slight grin then. The man was not backing down. Nor did he seem particular worried. "But...the Senator suddenly continued, a slight smile coming over his face, while again, Kiza felt a bit of..amusement coming from the man. "I dont see why we cant give them two targets, just in case this was not an accident." Senator Tesslor turned at looked at Sledon. "I will take Wraith with me, and you Sledon, can take your lovely 'assistant' with you. If there really is some type of dark intent, perhaps we can get them to rear their ugly heads. You dont have a problem with that, do you?"

Kiza's eyes slid over to watch Sledon's reactions. The ones within the Force were much more interesting however. Sledon's mouth worked for a moment, jaws clinched tightly, as his emotions flared in the Darkside. The Senator had touched a nerve indeed. Shock at first, swiftly followed by anger. Kiza felt it was more from the smirk coming from Senator Tesslor, than anything else. Then worry, as he looked over towards Kiza, to see that she was watching him intently. She had kept him alive so far, so did he worry she might not be able to do so? Fine by her, she could find another. But that didnt seem to be it. Something else was worrying him, but Kiza could not perceive what that could be. Sledon gave his own grin, as he looked back over at Senator Tesslor. "Why not? The explosion might not have been for us. It could have just been for anyone, who went to that landing pad." he added, trying to sound non conforming about the entire incident. But the Darkside said otherwise. Kiza smiled. "Dont worry. If anyone is looking, they will be sorry they found us." she added, looking forward to this bit of fun. To wraith, she typed on her datapad, [What did you find?], followed by the directions, and room number that the Senator and Sledon were to meet. Looking over at Wraith, Kiza nodded. "So, how are you finding your first day on the job?" as her fingers worked on her datapad. She was getting another update on the explosions at Sledon's quarters. A partial clip of something moving fast, barely caught on a separate video-feed. Something, she would have to take a better look at later. Right now, Grunt and the others were busy dealing with CorSec, over at the apartment, and two guards had been injured. They did note that a open safe was found, a fact that Sledon seemed to not be aware of yet. Probably too busy dealing with the explosion to check his own data just yet. That, or he wasnt too worried about it. Kiza forwarded the information for Wraith to read as well. She figured they would eventually catch up with them, most likely while the Senator and his aide were busy during the meeting. That might shed a bit of light as well.

Fryne did her best not to jump as the elegantly gloved hand slammed a fist into the table. She did not need to be a force sensitive to know that the owner of said gloved fist was angry. The first bit of news was bad enough, but now these new pieces of information was not the information they had gleamed that they would have. On the contrary, this was now a new bit of un-welcomed intrusion.

"Find out who did it." the voice stated, the coldness of it making the hairs on the back of Fryne's neck rise. "Now." the voice commanded, as they turned away from Fryne. She nodded, and moved quickly away, glad to be away from such anger. Things usually died when that happened, and she was not going to be in the path between them, and whatever fool had dared to inject themselves into something they had interest in. She quickly left, letting the darkness swallow up the area behind her once more, as fingers steepled in dark contemplation.

The hard Force Shove in it’s back forced the droid forwards to the hatchway leading back into the main body of the Imperial walker, the speed, loss of balance, and the fact that it’s head was facing the wrong way, meant that the lower rise of the hatch, that was meant to be stepped over, slammed harshly into the droid’s leading shin, and it stumbled with arms akimbo into the darkness, sliding noisily along the deck on the back of its head, and its chest and knees, it’s companion MagnaGuard stepping smartly ouit of the way into the unseen corner to the right of the hatchway, glowing red photoreceptors observing it’s counterpart’s plight.

MagnaGuards could operate as a tag team, and had done so during the Clone Wars, denying the jedi they were fighting any respite while one of their number recovered.

But this was over a hundred years later, and software had glitched, or slowed.

The second droid did not pick up the slack against the Cathar, but waited in the dark.

Lightssaberrr's rrresistant? ” Rasa asked, after the failure of her lightsabre to inflict much damage.

They didn’t tell you that one, did they?” Nelf asked, almost cheerfully, “Duranium, Cortosis, other materials. All resistant to lightsabres to one degree or another. Cortosis is a nasty one;” he smiled, “causes lightsabre blades to actually short out. Now, to be fair, the jedi who learned about cortosis, probably didn’t live long enough to report back.

He wondered if she would realise that as she still had a blade, the droid wasn’t plated in cortos

Well, at least the blasted thing could be Force Shoved, she decided with a certain amount to satisfaction, as she watched the thing go sliding against the deck on its back. She saw several things at once. That one, that there was a large doorway now open in this area, and two, the thing was not alone. More glowing red eyes seemed to be in the area as well.

The response to her question about lightsabers was not very reasuring. “They didn’t tell you that one, did they?” Lord Nelf responded, and unless she was mis-reading human emotions, he sounded rather happy about the fact. She wondered why. “Duranium, Cortosis, other materials. All resistant to lightsabres to one degree or another. Cortosis is a nasty one;” he paused, then continued, “causes lightsabre blades to actually short out. Now, to be fair, the jedi who learned about cortosis, probably didn’t live long enough to report back.”

Wonderful. But that her lightsaber was still happily buzzing in her hand, she guess that was a good thing. Whatever was on it, was most likely placed on vital spots. Of course. But she did have other ways to effect the blasted thing. That was all that mattered. Her nose told her that the smell that she had encountered earlier was thick in this room. Claws extended out from her feet, as she crouched. With a flicker, she did another force push, this time focused on the things powerpike, hoping to send both it and the doid out the open doorway. She knew she would not be so lucky with the second droid catching it unawares, and she wanted the first one out of the way. She wanted to charge the second one, but knowing the floor was coated, she waited to see what it would do, while she finished with the first droid.

The lift was and would be still operational, that was good he supposed, but something else -another ‘wrinkle’ in the plans- obliterated almost all other concern. This feeling…was all too familiar, and it came from the Senator and not his aide.

Wraith listened and dissected the information on several levels of his mind.

His ‘theory’ concerning the reason for the attack was interesting, but that was if his assumptions were taken for more than what it was; an assumption.

Everyone was already at the meeting and they were the last ones, already delayed and now presumably targets of some 'plot' as well. The sudden change in tactics was suspicious to Wraith. ‘We’ take them on? Who was he kidding, and who where ‘they’ exactly?

Now the suggestion to separate was introduced and their combined strength would be cut in half by default. No, this was manipulation, something the disguised sith recognized immediately. If you smelled dung, you didn’t have to see it to know for certain it was in fact there.

The note he’d found in the burning docking bay suddenly came to mind.

Only in death does a fool learn

“I will take Wraith with me, and you Sledon, can take your lovely ‘assistant’ with you.”

Behind his visor, Wraith gave the good ole Senator a long and penetrating look, his expression and emotions betraying nothing. This turn was unusual, but Wraith was already expecting ‘the unexpected’ as it were.

If the explosion was indeed a ruse, someone was going through a great deal of trouble to arrange an unscheduled meeting. ‘Wraith’ was fond of those, but only when he arranged them and under circumstances of his choosing. Nothing was coincidence. The Senator’s placating words only increased the disguised sith’s suspicions.

Truth be told, the mercenary in him would have objected to the idea of splitting the group and as a high ranking security agent, the decision would have been reversed. But 'Anguish' wished to indulge his curiosity.

For ‘extra security’ he sent out a coded and clandestine signal from his personal device, then smoothly responded to Kiza’s electronic query. [What did you find?] she asked.

    [A clue.] He responded.

Wraith didn’t elaborate, simply because the statement implied he would do so later.

“So, how are you finding your first day o the job?” Kiza asked verbally as she continued to type on her datapad.

“Ask me again after we reach the Senate Chambers” Wraith responded with a dash or sardonic humor. An outward mask for what was really going through his mind.

Deception, Distraction, Division. All these familiar tactics were at play. How very intriguing. Good thing he was good at them himself.

The time for the second act was now.

“Senator, you’re with me. Stay close if you please. I’ve never lost a charge and I’m unwilling to taint my rep on this op. Let’s go.”

To Kiza, he typed: [ See you at the Senate Chambers. I’ll report every 5. Wraith group moving out.]

With that, the mercenary motioned for the Senator to follow and began to make his way to a different turbo lift, even as a plan continued to grow in his mind.

The MagnaGuard on the deck was slid further along the slick surface by the new Force Push, and fetched up against the open doorway, but stopped there.

Unfazed, the droid brought a knee under itself, and started to stiffly raise itself onto all fours, the threadbare grey rags covering it draping over both sides of the torso.

Behind Rasa, Lord Nelf reminded her that the objective was to secure a power unit of some type.

Rasa growled softly, her ears laid flat, as the droid slid all the way up to the open doorway, but stopped there. It then started to get up on all fours. Well, this could be a problem. But it's head was still hanging off backwards, so that was helpful. As she tried to figure out what to do next, Lord Nelf somewhere behind her, reminded Rasa that the objective was to secure a power unit of some type. Wonderful.

Rasa watched the thing as it raised itself up stiffly. Well, if she was building a droid, resistant to lightsaber hits.. the neck, arms and leg, would most likely be harder to deal with. The torso..hmm. maybe. But its head and neck was already damaged. If he needed a power unit, she had to put it down, without doing too much damage to the power unit, which was most likely buried in its chest.

"FIINEE!" Rasa growled back to the front of the AT-AT as she stared at the damaged droid. Frustration was beginning to build up, and Rasa didnt see why the thing shouldn't take the blunt of it. No Force shove this time, she used her telekenetics once more, and pulled it towards her. At last minute, she sent it skyrocketing back up to the ceiling, and then back down to the floor once more. And then again and again, to do more damage to it. As she moved it, she shifted her lightsaber, and sliced across the neck area that was already damaged, hoping her saber would finish the job. She kept her blade moving, swooping down, looking to see if the area between the arm and the elbow was covered by any protective metals. She figured the joints might be...but not so much the middle of the arm. Since this was not a person, she didnt have to attack it in the same spots you would a human. Either way, she planned to carve the thing up, unless she didnt have the opportunity to do so. Course, bashing the thing up and down, was also rather pleasurable also, but she figured she could only get away with that a few times before it came up with a countermeasure, so best to take care of it quickly. Especially since there did seem to be another unit here as well.

These things were perfect to take out her frustrations on being wet and miserable right now, and she was very happy to have something to vent on.

Well, this morning was certainly getting interesting. All the intrigue that bubbled within the Darkside was most palatable indeed. Whatever the Senator had in mind, he was not exactly sharing at the moment, but he did seem to have something going on. First, not informing them that his own security would not be there until midday, and then the explosion. And now, he was suggesting that they split up, and make there separate way there. Perhaps Sledon was not the one to watch after all. What secrets did the old man have indeed? Senator Tesslor was up to something, that much was certain.

[What did you find?] she texted Wraith. His response, was less that helpful. [A clue.] What in the Lords of Xebaran did THAT mean. They would have to discuss workplace edicate later on, when they were not quite so busy. She did not let her irritation through, however as she did not wish to let the others know something else was in flux. Instead, she verbally asked Wraith, “So, how are you finding your first day on the job?” Kiza asked verbally as she continued to type on her datapad. “Ask me again after we reach the Senate Chambers” Wraith responded humorously. Kiza lifted an eyebrow, but said nothing. Well, it seemed that Slendon had no issues to the plan suggested by the Senator. Probably a good idea. If he objected, the Senator would have reason to question him. But Slendon seemed to go a bit too easily with this suggestion, even after his initial outburst within the Force. Perhaps he had something else going on, than she knew. Whatever thoughts Kiza had, were interrupted by Wraith, as he spoke to Senator Tesslor, "Senator, you’re with me. Stay close if you please. I’ve never lost a charge and I’m unwilling to taint my rep on this op. Let’s go.” At the same time, a blip on her communications flashed across her screen. [ See you at the Senate Chambers. I’ll report every 5. Wraith group moving out.] Wraith motioned for the Senator to follow, heading for another turbo lift. Senator Slendon nodded and followed Wraith towards whatever pathway he chose for them both.

Kiza looked over towards Sledon. "Well then. I guess that just leaves us, dosent it?" she smiled at the aide. "Well, if there are any bogies out there, guess we should not keep them waiting. Shall we?" she gestured towards the turbo lift. Slendon lifted an eyebrow. "Woudlnt they expect us to use this lift?" he asked her. Kiza smiled. "Well, that would depend on how smart they were, if there is a 'THEY'. The tactics of most security groups would be one, NOT to split your forces, and two, immediately take another path. Most likely, this turbo would be turned off. But they have not. That fact alone is enough to throw them off. But the fact that we have indeed split up, and there are three possible other lifts in the immediate area that one could take, that are working and heading in the direction we need, gives them multiple targets to deal with." Kiza gave Sledon a wicked grin. "Of course, they could be smart. And still decide to cover this way as well. In that case, then I'll get the chance to have some fun. Though I doubt I will be that lucky." Sledon gave her a quizzical look, but slowly nodded. Kiza responded with a gesture. "Shall we? Standing still for too long, makes us vulnerable." She didnt need to tell the aide twice, as he began to move, entering the lift. With a dark chuckle, Kiza entered the left herself, and pushed the control panel. For one level above the floor that they needed to enter. Sledon looked over, but didnt say anything. The doors slowly closed with a soft swoosh sound. Let the fun begin.

    IC: Wraith (Anguish)
    Senate Building, Coruscant

Against his better judgment and training, the group had split in two. Wraith didn’t like it, but the darkside was at work and he could feel something was about. Since he could not quite determine what it was exactly, he was sure to be on ‘alert’, but he was also excited by the sense of danger. He wasn’t sure exactly how it involved Senator Tesslor, but the feeling that it did was strong.

Leaving Kiza and Sledon behind, Wraith cautiously moved towards the next closest working turbolift. The disguised darksider probes the area with his senses, as he is expecting trouble to ambush them. What he feels is a bit surprising. The senator seems unusually relaxed for a person in his predicament. How very curious.

“This lift seems operational, senator.” Wraith informs and motions for the man to get in as he covers his back, but the senator stops in his tracks, hesitant.

“Perhaps the stairs will prove safer.” He suggests and looks in the direction of the stairwell. Wraith pauses and gives the Senator a meaningful look, which the senator would have trouble determining due to the nagai’s targeting visor. In the darksdise, Wraith feels a curious ripple from the Senator.

Can he be leading him into a trap? If so, all would pay with their lives.

“Either way we’d be vulnerable.” Wraith says, conceding the point. “The stairs it is.”

The senator doesn’t show it outwardly, but Wraith can feel the man’s relief.

Being no fool, Wraith takes every precaution now, making sure to sweep the area with his targeting visor in every possible spectrum as well as with his force senses. With sword in hand, he inputs the security code provided to enter the stairwell and is the first to emerge. The senator casually makes a few more suggestions as to how they should proceed. Wraith listens and obeys, but moves at his own pace, ever ready to neutralize anything or anyone he would consider a threat.

After a few floors, Wraith senses a nearby presence, but gives no indication that he’s felt it, however, he is ready to strike. The west corner of the well is darkened, and for a moment, nothing shows up in the infra-red spectrum of Wraith’s targeting visor, then a heat signature appears confirming what he already knew by way of the darkside of the force.

Wraith now has a two handed grip on his curved vibro sword and subtly shifts his stance. Someone begins to approach them, as a figure moves out of the shadows and into the dimly lit well. Wraith is just about to perform a neutralizing strike when the senator suddenly yells!

    “WAIT!!!”

True. The figure was not attacking, but Wraith was not in the business of taking chances and unnecessary risks. In his business, it was always better to ask question afterwards, or once a secured advantage had been obtained.

To his credit and thanks to his insatiable curiosity, Wraith forced himself not to strike down the emerging figure regardless of the senator’s objection.

Tesslor was ‘quick’ to explain the situation, however.

Though no names were given, the senator revealed that the being was a member of the Shi’ido delegation. As he spoke, the shi’ido handed the senator what looked like a data chip, all the while avoiding any a proper identifying looks from Wraith, who suspected the being’s true form was not revealed. The shi’ido offered the senator his condolences, then disappeared once again as he re-entered the shadows, even from Wraith’s targeting visor, but not from Force.

Turning back his attention to the senator, Wraith regards the man during a moment of thoughtful contemplation. Though curious, he makes no inquiries regarding the acquired data chip. The fact that he had been witness to this clandestine encounter spoke volumes already. There was a lot more going on beyond the surface.

“Shall we continue?” Wraith offered. The senator nodded his agreement. Wraith could not help but sense the man’s sense of urgency mixed with feelings of worry.

Still not letting down his guard, Wraith proceeded as cautiously as before. If anyone one else dared to ‘intercept them’ as the shi’ido had done, they would receive the same treatment, that is, unless the senator saved their sorry hide. But no such interruptions occurred, and finally, the pair reached their destination.

The meeting area the senator had been leading them to.

The repeated smashes into the ceiling and floor started to take their toll, denting the top of the droid's head, then when the metal allow could not yield any more, forcing the head and neck down into between the angled grey duranium shoulderpads into the torso, smoke and sparks billowing and flashing as the crimson photoreceptors dimmed to black.

From its point of view, the image of the irate Cathar flashed, ghosted, dissolved to static, then faded to black.

The arms went limp, the weight of the electrostaff holding them towards the floor.

All signs of resistance and activity fled the droid.

Rasa was feeling somewhat vindicated with the repeated smashes from floor to ceiling, she would not deny it. The fact that it was a droid, made it that much better, as she watched its head and neck get crammed into the torso, complete with a lovely shower of sparks to boot!

With a happy growl, she watched as its arms went limp, and its weapon drooped to the floor. Seeing that it was no longer moving on its own, she then looked up to scan the room once more. Her happy purr turned into a confused 'mrrr?' sound, as she realized she no longer saw the other droid. She was sure she had seen one sitting in the room, a few moments ago.

With a sweep of her hand, she shoved the wreckage of the droid that had finally stopped moving towards her. Rasa's ears went flat, as she growled softly, "Willlll thaat suurrrrfice for powerrrr?" she asked, as she moved to the side. Let her 'Master' handle getting the power supply. Rasa eyed the floor carefully. Since there was lubricant all over the floor, she had to be careful. Simply running in could be painful. If she could not see it, it had to be on the wall closest to the door, but hard to tell where. Could have ducked down behind something as well. Rasa's right ear went up in contemplation as she tried to decide what action to take next.

Sitting on the backward-facing driver's chair to face Rasa's confrontation with the MagnaGuard, Inquisitor Nelf was not sure if he had fulfilled his promise to the young student, but he looked forward to showing off the results to her former master back on Coruscant.

Maybe hanging around with him was enough to propel a young student of the Force to the capable warrior that he was seeing before him, intermittently lighting up the dark cockpit with showers of sparks from the droid that she was rather decisively, bashing the sith out off.

"Willlll thaat suurrrrfice for powerrrr?" She eventually asked, sliding the blackened, dented hulk across the deck to where his raised boot stopped its progress.

"We shall see, My Apprentice." Nelf dropped to one knee beside the destroyed droid, gazing across its smoking carapace for signs of life, and gaps in the metal that he could utilise to start opening the thing up. "We shall see." He glanced up towards her silhouette visible in the neck area. "Was it alone?"

The second MagnaGuard in the shadows to the right of the open hatch leading from the main passenger area, to the neck section, had received telemetry from the first fighter, and knew about the opponent's trick with the ceiling bashing.

Unmoving, the second droid magnetised its feet to the deck, and prepared to move as soon as the intruder showed itself again, or stepped through that hatch.

Kiza entered the lift, and after a quick scan with both the Force and her scanners, she gestured for Sledon to enter. The doors quietly closed. Even though he stayed quiet, within the Force he was a silent gale-storm of emotions and feelings. As she appeared not to notice, she guessed he was deep in thought about recent events. There was fear there, but there was something else as well. She could not quite pick up on the emotion, but it seemed odd. Kiza checked her shield readout. It had had time to recover. That blast had been close, and she did not need a repeat of another surprise of that magnitude. Suddenly her comlink went off, the same as her datapad bleeped at her.

[Alpha 1 and Alpha 2. Reports from Gamma squad in Green sector. Chemical analysis pending. Aide Sledon's secondary quarters have been secured for the time being. Corsec police investigation explosion and evidence left behind. Right now, they're being pretty tight lipped about it. They want to see the Senator's aide once he is free.]

Well, that should be an interesting meeting indeed. Since the Green Sector became a hot topic item, it seemed that the Senators involved would be under closer scrutiny. The lift came to a smooth stop, with the door opening to on the floor selected. Kiza stepped out, and looked in both directions. The floor was empty. Interesting. Even with the alarms, and emergency protocols in place, the floor seemed much quieter than normal. Kiza scanned the area with the Force. Nothing. She frowned, extending her feelings into the Force. NOTHING. "Fa'roguh!" Kiza looked over towards Sledon. "We should hurry. Something is not right here." Kiza touched her hand to her earpiece. "Wraith. Status. Something is going on here. Check the area around you." With that, Kiza looked over at Sledon. "We move. Now. Whoever is responsible for this is good. I believe there is much more going on than a simple 'statement.' And Im pretty sure its directed squarely towards you." With a dark smile, Kiza pointed towards a stairwell roughly 100 meters away. "We shall go for those stairs, and head down to the meeting area. I suggest you move quickly, because we're being targeted." Sledon looked around frantically, trying to see if he could see anything, but he could not. But he believed what Kiza was telling him. Even to him, it seemed rather quiet, even if the building had already been evacuated on this floor. So, was someone trying to kill the man, or simply unnerve them? Kiza moved close to Sledon, grabbing his arm. "A little quicker, if you please." she told him. using the Force slightly to move him quickly over the space she mentioned. A bracer suddenly lit up on the Aide's arm, and Kiza gave a curse, as she turned, quickly slinging the man in another direction. He didnt fight the sudden change, as she had given him the bracer, and he knew what its glowing light signified. If anything, Kiza swore that he sped up even faster, as he now ran for the second doorway. Still, Kiza had not noticed anything, or had felt anything within the Darkside. WHO? A flash of movement, and Kiza was tempted to move into attack mode, but then the suddenly thought that this was a movement, meant to draw her out, overruled her. Something was very wrong with this setup. As if they knew the security protocols that the security teams had drawn up -

Another dark curse, as Kiza grabbed the aide by the scruff of his shirt. He yelped at being unceremoniously grabbed in such a manner, but the dark look on his face disappeared when he saw the look that Kiza was now giving him. "We're taking another route." she informed him, as she stepped over to the edge of a walkway. He barely had time to sputter, as she shoved him over the edge, and then she jumped after him. It was with a bit of satisfaction, that she noted movement above her, as something moved forward, but she was now focused on the floor coming up. Using the darkside, she angled her jump, and not so gently 'nudged' Sheldon onto the landing on the next floor down, his clothing flapped around him, before settling down. His face had gone white, and he could only sputter a response. Kiza looked up, as she now had her hand on her weapon, but had not yet drawn it. At least now, she could sense other beings on the floor, the Senator being not too far away. They continued to make their way to the meeting, and they make it there without any further complications.

    -

Meanwhile, Wraith would had received the same information blast as Kiza had, while he moved with the Senator. And like Kiza, he came across an area, where it seemed that he was unable to sense anything. But his sensors would pick up several mechanical devices, posted within the hallways. But his sensors would not distinguish any unusual transmissions from the devices. No other beings came across his path, only a pair of Senate guards crossing the area to move delegates to other turbo lifts on the far end. None came close to the pair. And when they did reach the room, they would be greeted by a roomful of very well armed bodyguards, and their Senate charges, who all looked up when Senator Tesslor came through the door. An older gentleman, stepped up, looking very relieved, even as he gave Wraith an odd glance, before looking back over at the Senator. "We heard of the explosion on the landing pad, and we were worried. Is everything alright? Where is you aide, Senator?" Senator Tesslor, raised his arms, and gave a slow nod. "Dont worry my friends." Senator Tesslor spoke to them, turning on the charm. "Everything will be fine. Let's keep our heads now, shall we? It would be a shame to lose them in this stage of the game." Noticing the looks that Wraith was receiving, he nodded, and shook his hand. "My aide hired him. My usual team should arrive shortly, as should my aide." The other Senators nodded, and gestured to Wraith with a curt nod towards where other 'bodyguards' seemed to be waiting. Not long afterwards, Slendon and Kiza amde there way to where they were, Kiza looking none the worse for wear, while Sledon looked as if he was going to be ill.

    Rasa Ruu'ta-Li - ancient AT-AT Interior
    On an island, Ciutric IV

As Rasa slid the rather banged up carcass of the droid towards Lord Nelf, she was still staring out into the other room. She was positive that she had seen another droid in the area, but now she could not see it. Her ears went flat, as she continued to watch the area. Droiking things were smarter than they looked, she mused to herself. When she asked if the droid she had just dispatched was enough to do the job at hand, Lord Nelf gave what she considered a cryptic response.

"We shall see, My Apprentice." he paused a moment. "We shall see." He glanced up towards her silhouette visible in the neck area. "Was it alone?" She did not turn to look away from the area, but she gave a clear signal, shaking her head from side to side.

Rasa scanned the area again in front of her. The droid had to be hiding near the wall the door was on. It was the only place that she could not see. It was not moving, or she would hear it. And because of the smell of the lubricant all over the place, she could not pick up an odor.. not that droids had one to begin with. Rasa held back a snort. The thing was probably hiding, waiting for her to move, so it would attack. Personally, she just as rather ignore the thing, but she didnt think that would be an option in this case. Her left ear tipped slightly, as her fangs showed. So, this one wasnt a stupid as its predecessor was. Rasa would have to try something different. With a smirk, she concentrated for a moment, gathering the Force around her, as she calmed herself, and opened her eyes.

With a quick burst of speed, doing a good impersonation of a Force run, Rasa ran for the doorway. As she moved, as soon as she crossed over the opening, she snapped her lightsaber to life, and then bent low, using her Cathar abilities to the max, as she slid across the floor as low as possible. If the droid was waiting to ambush her as she crossed, hopefully, she would give it a surprise. She would slid all the way across until she came to the opposite wall, and then would decide what options to take, to disassemble the second droid. She just hoped there werent another ten or more waiting around for their turn in line.

Nelf sensed a seam he could manipulate down the decapitated torso that Rasa had provided, graced the lower side with a hand grip, and used the Force to lever the top up, millimetre by millimetre.

Bastiche thing was tough; he could feel a nosebleed coming on from the effort.

The metal squealed as the two halves separated and micro-rivets popped, pinging off into the darkness, and Nelf smiled upon noting the power source inside, a transparisteel cylinder containing a viscous blue-green gel, not unlike what powered the All Terrain Sout Transports of his time.

Yes, the half-elf Sith Inquisitor nodded to himself, that will do nicely.

The second Magnadroid did not see Rasa pass it, her passage too fast its photoreceptors to register the blur as the threat it was waiting for.

What it did notice was the intense clattering sounds starting up from the dozen or so seated Magnadroids on the benches to its right, those droids activated, but joints too frozen to rise from the benches, but still reacting to the supine Rasa on the deck by their feet, shaking spasmodically in their seats as they tried to move.

The Magnadroid turned its attention from the open hatch to it's shuddering compatriots. What had gotten them so riled?

!!! Pek'tash'bhol!!!!! Rasa's unspoken curse echoed in her head.

Rasa's charge so far had gone well. She slid past the doorway, and noted the droid near the doorway. What she DIDNT notice, until the end of her slide, was that there was more than just ONE crazy droid in the room. CURSE their un-Force using bodies. There was more of them. A LOT more. They were all seated on benches to the right of her. They shook and made sounds, but did not move.

Rasa had no idea what that was all about, but she was not about to try and figure it out. She needed to get away from them, and take out the one that WAS in motion. Even as she saw the one she had slid past start to turn towards her, Rasa moved fast. Claws out for traction, she used her Cathar reflexes, to flip herself over, and then she quickly came towards the droid standing near the doorway. As she moved, she drew her hold out blaster.

    'Bantha Balls!'

This was a droid with lightsaber resistant parts. She wasnt going to waste too much time on it. Especially since it seemed to have others ready to join in the fight. And to HECK with getting it's power cell!

    *vzzzzt!*
    *vzzzzt!*

Rasa starting shooting as soon as possible, moving towards it quickly She also tried to Force push the thing into the corner, hoping to bash this one as well. Once she was close enough, she would use her saber. She hoped that together, it would be enough to quickly take it out before the other droids could join in. Well, she had asked for a bit of excitement. She certainly was getting it now.

Wraith frowned. ‘Evidence left behind?’ He mused for a brief second. He’d have to get access to that report as soon as he was able.

The mercenary’s earpiece buzzed. It was Kiza.

[“Wraith. Status. Something is going on here. Check the area around you.”]

“Copy.” He answered darkly, his force senses immediately flaring out beyond the range he had already set for them. The implications of her words were clear to him. There was real danger here.

With the Senator close to him, Wraith managed to lead the human to a deserted looking area without incident. Oddly enough, he could sense nothing.

    Nothing? He noted suspiciously.

Not only was that impossible, that in itself was telling. Only a trained force user could do such things, in addition, they were doing it to him. That was just as significant as it was unpleasant. Wraith did his best to stifle a growl, but was uncertain if he’d succeeded.

Switching to his targeting visor and datapad, Wraith conducted a sensor sweep before proceeding further. There were mechanical devices suspiciously ensconced throughout the hallway. He contemplated if he should try to disable them via the force, but thought better of it. No other beings were to be found in the area, save for a pair of guards escorting Senators towards turbo lifts at the far end.

The room they needed to reach was not far, so Wraith decided to move with extreme caution. He even surreptitiously shielded himself and the senator with the force, without the latter even noticing. No other sentients crossed their path and so, they finally reached the room in question.

The room was full of armed bodyguards and their senatorial charges. Wraith put himself between them and the Senator and bade him to halt. He already knew he did not have his blasters with him, but his vibro sword was a nimble motion away. Wraith bent his knees and readied himself, just in case he needed to act as he regarded the room.

An older man which Wraith guessed was a senator stepped up and spoke with Tesslor. Wraith did not allow the senator to move yet, until he was sure the room was clear, though he did nothing to hider their conversation.

“We heard of the explosion on the landing pad, and we were worried. Is everything alright? Where is your aide, senator? the man inquired.

“Don’t worry my friends.” Tesslor began. “ Everything will be fine. Let’s keep our heads now, shall we? It would be a shame to lose them in this stage of the game.”

Wraith fought the urge to look back and look at the Senator. His words clearly had a double meaning and a nagging sensation suddenly rose within him. If he didn’t know better…Oh! but he did. There were no such thing as coincidence and instincts were to be trusted implicitly.

Wraith ignored the looks he was receiving for the moment as he commed Kiza.

“Status nominal.” He said simply as Tesslor spoke again to those gathered around. Wraith wondered if this was the meeting room, or were they all hiding here for a reason.

“My aide hired him. My usual team should arrive shortly, as should my aide.”

The other senators nodded and gestured for the nagai mercenary to relocate to a place designated for those performing similar duties. Wraith only moved after Tesslor had himself nodded and given the ok.

Stepping lightly, Wraith joined the other ‘bodyguards’ and took his place among them. He gave a general nod in greeting, but kept his interactions to a minimum for now. He had much to sort in his mind. The explosion. The mysterious note. Sledon’s apartment. The tetrahedron. It was all connected somehow. Still, he had to remain alert just the same. Not only that, it would also be good to get his blasters back, if at all possible.

It didn’t take long for Kiza and Sledon to arrive. Wriath offered a slight nod as he saw Kiza, who looked as self-possessed and alert as always, however, Sledon was looking quite ill.

‘Don’t you dare give out on me, thief.’ Wraith thought accusingly as he coldly regarded the man from behind his targeting visor.

‘You still have something of mine and I aim to collect it.’ He hissed at him mentally, though his face was still a perfect mask of composure.

Nelf disengaged the rusty clamps holding the power source inside the rended Magnaguard torso, cradling the transparent container carefully while he carried it over to the console, and placed it gently on the deck beneath.

Cables that he had already severed and pulled free from beneath the housing were pulled gently to where they could reach the power source, and then the Inquisitor had a brief hunt around for a tool kit.

There would be one inside the vehicle for the crew to conduct repairs in the field.

Nelf could feel in his bones that he was nearing the completion of Phase One in his plan, recovery of his beloved's remains.

Sure, according to the records back on Imperial Centre, these were a cloned Ysanne Isard that would be buried down here, but he had very little chance of getting to the original, what with the way and whereabouts that Wedge Antilles had slain her.

He had never encountered that particular terrorist, and now, thrust over a hundred years out of his era, the opportunity had been missed.

Too much to hope the murderous little bastiche had fallen into a vat of molten carbonite, and was waiting in a storeroom somewhere, waiting to be discovered. The Force was never that kind.

A grey ridged box affixed to the bulkhead by the left-hand pilots seat, held the tools that he needed, and he got to work, connecting the two, completely oblivious now to the progress of his apprentice.

Rasa was further annoyed that her first blast missed, hitting the ceiling instead. But what really caused her to frown, was that while it blocked her other blast, a hand came up, and pulled something from underneath its coverings. It was a weapon, that much was sure, but Rasa had no idea what it was except that it was huge!!!

    **PHOOM!!**

Rasa's eyes went wide as orange flame burst from the barrel, and a black metallic egg exitted the flame, crossing over the heads of the seated MagnaGuards to meet Rasa.

    She panicked.

With a roar, Rasa extended both arms out and it was as if suddenly, things had slowed down. She was about to Force shoved the object heading for her back out towards the droid, as if it was a game of holo-pong as she back peddled. But that would send it near the door, and close to Lord Nelf. The only other option....

Rasa twisted, her cat reflexes once again coming into play as she sent the strange object towards the open doorway to the side of her. She then switched directions, angling herself towards the opposite corner. She went sliding. She had to make sure Lord Nelf didnt get injured, and she hoped whatever the thing was that the droid sent flying towards her, wasnt as bad as she was imagined it was as she slid to the opposite corner.

OWww! She was going to be feeling THAT later on.

[“Status nominal.”] Wraith's response came over her comlink. Kiza snorted. She doubted if that was true at all. But right now, she was not going to worry about it. Her charge was Sledon, and if the color on his face was any indications, he would not be giving her any problems whatsoever, after their change of travel. But the man was still tipped lip. Well, he seemed to have some measure of fortitude at least. She wondered just how much of it was an act. Another part of an already annoying puzzle. But at least there were no more interruptions, and it did not take them long to reach their destinations. Kiza paused for a moment, before leading Sledon into the room. "You might want to fix yourself up a bit." she stated, as she gestured towards him. Sledon immediately straighten the front of his uniform, and then smoothed down his hair, as Kiza watched him, checking him within the Force. Well, the man didnt look like he was about to throw up at least. But the man was staying quiet for now. With a gesture, She took the lead, opening the door and stepping in first, in front of Sledon, and scanning the room. Once she saw Wraith, who offered a slight nod, did she step in, now seeing the Senator as well. Senator Tesslor looked up as Kiza and Sledon came into the room. He gave a wide smile, as he nodded. "Well, it seems your security protocol was up to task as well. You made it. Now, shall we get this meeting going now?" Sledon nodded, and walked over to the others, quickly gathering his composure as he did. Kiza noticed where Wraith was standing, and walked over, scanning the room as she did. As she walked she entered data that would show up on Wraith's equipment.

[That ... was informative. Someone is paying top dollar for this. Found a jammer outside, two floors up. How someone would get that into the building, should be almost impossible.] A jammer being a device that would hide a persons biofeedback, from all the built-in scanners that lay throughout the building. Highly illegal, to be sure. Someone was trying to hide someone or something. It didnt take a genius to see that the Senators were trying to get together for some hidden meeting. Considering all of the attacks so far, it made sense. With the tensions already high because of the Shi’ido delegation, Kiza was almost sure that these attacks had nothing to do with it. At least, not yet. First, Slendon's apartment goes up in flames. That sounded much more personal in nature. But the attack on the ship? They werent really trying to blow it up, or the explosion would have happened in flight. But nothing had been found, in both mechanical scans, and scans that Kiza had done herself. So, it had to have been on the landing pad. And still, the blast was small, considering. Was that another 'hint'? Now, they had someone come after them as they tried to attend the meeting. And the fact that Kiza could not feel this being within the Force was quite disconcerting as well. It was as if someone else knew the schedule as well. Was there a leak in the task force? With such a large number of beings, it was a possibility. That was something Kiza would have to address, once this meeting was over. Kiza looked over, as the meeting started to warm up some. She heard heated voices, but none of them clear. Nothing to draw interest to, as she had heard them arguing before. Mater of fact, Kiza would think it strange if they did not argue. Kiza noticed one of the other guards kept staring at her. She leaned back in her seat, giving the 'man' a hard look. "Loose something?" she finally asked the man. His only reaction was a soft chuckle, but he continued to look. Kiza snorted, going back to her thoughts. No, she began to think that perhaps these were separate incidents. The explosion at the apartment was the one that concerned her most. And then the Senators bodyguards, suddenly going off, and leaving him. Was that accidental? Or was perhaps the Senator was testing for something else. Kiza stood, and quickly walked over towards Wraith. "Any interesting thoughts you care to share?" she asked him, while she mused over the possible interactions, and what they could infer.
