PT What do you LIKE about the prequels

Um I like "Duel of the Fates".,.i liked when they ended..I liked that Han nor the millennium falcon (to my knowledge) wasn't in any of them..um I guess a 2 sided lightsaber is a cool idea..oh and the artist who did the posters was talented..that's all I got

 

Okay, seems I'm not alone in liking the prequel trilogy. Besides Hayden Christensen's bad acting(the romantic scenes weren't full of passion, i felt Natalie Portman was the face saver), and Jar Jar Binks, the prequel trilogy's got just about everything that you would need to complete the saga. The best part were the fighting sequences, which was better than OT.

 

Visually. The vehicles and architecture of Naboo allow for some of the most visually stunning backdrops in TPM. Queen Amidala's wardrobe speaks for itself. The shot of her in Palpatine's office with a sunset sky in the background was amazing. The Naboo scenes with Anakin and Padme in AOTC are also very nice. There are also numerous shots in ROTS that put anything in the OT to shame. The art that I am referring to is representative of modern comic books. That quality did not exist in comic books when the OT was created. Film technology allows for such images to be created today much more easily. It was not as easy back then. The same can be said for comic books. The closest that the OT ever came to such quality are the shot of Luke gazing at the twin sunset in ANH and the shot of Luke approaching Vader on the platform in ESB.

 

The Falcon was in ROTS for 5 seconds or so.

 

Meh, at least Han Solo isn't.,

 

@ My young Padawan, Thank you for the in depth answer. To some extend I agree with you: I enjoy the visuals of some vessels, animals, and landscapes in the PT. Yet some are also pretty bad. I don't like Mustafar at all. For me, the PT relies too heavily on CGI elements it makes it feel fake.

 

Not even this shot? It's one of my favorites in the entire saga.

 

I'm currently watching ROTS and this scene had just passed. I'm with some of my college pals and we are all talking about how much we loved that entire scene, well, everything that occurs on Mustafar. I absolutely love Mustafar.

 

Yes, even that. The only good part of the scene to me is Ian.

 

Is there a character count limit on posts? It would take quite a few pages for me to recount everything I loved about the Prequel Trilogy.

Woow...this is the best positive post I've seen anywhere about the prequels! I agree wholeheartedly.

 

I like that the PT makes me think. Not to say the OT doesn't for I see the whole Saga as grey but at least with the PT it's more obvious and clear demonstrating the ambiguity of the the whole workings of the SW mythos and universe.

I wanted to attack the question in a fairly comprehensive way.

I felt a big list was the best way of doing that.

 

The soundtrack to TPM is fantastic. "Duel of the Fates" gave me chills the first time that I heard it. It still does.

 

I also like "Anakin's Theme" very much, especially its inclusion of the Imperial March.

 

I also enjoy the incorporation between the two.

I love the fact everyone still hates on every single aspect of the PT yet everyone still loves to discuss the 3 great movies.
