Amph One Thread To Rule Them All: The Rings of Power + The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings Trilogies

I'm looking forward to TABA too, but first I'm looking forward to a spring break trip and the summer.

 

Summer is over, it's December already

TABA will be full of epicness!!!

 

I actually expect that by the time TABA is done, I will prefer the Hobbit trilogy to the LOTR trilogy, even if only slightly. I'll probably be ridiculed for this, but oh well.

 

I expect to be completely undone by TABA. If I cried for the last 20 minutes of ROTK, and me not being overly prone to such bouts of sentimentalism, I think TABA will just about knock me over...

Lord of the Rings Trilogy was Great, so far The Hobbit has been great

Will be #3 on my favourite movie series, with LOTR coming in on #1 and Harry Potter as #2

I am just not a big fan of the HP movies, because I am admittedly a book purist (having grown up with them). 1 and 2 were very good, but the next 4 movies just did not feel like the books at all to me. 7 and 8 were decent, but still not up to the level of the first 2. Chris Columbus's version of the HP world was just perfect - why did Cuaron have to come in and change everything? Ugh...

 

wdym Cuaron is the breath of fresh air that series NEEDED

I'm not hating lol! I said I enjoyed 4 of them.

I'll still watch SS and CoS from time to time! I just don't like watching the others as I don't want to ruin my mental image of the books.

No way, Columbus' movies were the worst. POA and DH1 and 2 were by far the best of the Potter movies.

In fact, it'd be great if Frodo's parents were introduced. Did Tolkien ever say if the father or mother was Bilbo's sibling? Do we know how they died? Peter Jackson can tell us!
