Mace: You ever read the Prophecy of the Chosen One, Brett?
    Brett: Y- yes!
Mace: There's a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this situation.

I'd love to see the origins of Jabba. Too see if he was born a tadpole or into a life a crime. And to see Nal Hutta

I hate the idea of the Sith being founded by fallen Jedi. I hope the Sith have a different origin if one is given.

I think you could easily do an Origins of The Sith and The Jedi in a potential "STAR WARS BEGINNINGS?/ORIGINS?: YODA" film. You could have the 1st 10-15 minutes be the origins of both then go into Yoda and how he became a Jedi on to the film where Yoda is on the Jedi Counsil. It will present a chance for Sam Jackson to return as well as Liam Neeson. I definitely think Yoda should be the 1st Spin off that would come out 2017 on the 40th Anniversary of A New Hope.

It'd be the grossest movie ever made.

How about something set during the New Sith Wars? It's an 1000-year long era of unexplored Jedi-Sith action.

Not too crazy about spin-off films because there's the possibility that they can spin out of control real fast. And I think the general moviegoer will sour on more and more Star Wars films, certainly one every other year until the end of time. I also don't want to see some 3rd tier directors direct any of these, like: Joe Johnston, Zach Snyder, etc.

How can an origin story for Darth Maul work as a movie? He's a villain...

Putting aside tge issues with villain movies, how about a movie on Marka Ragnos's duel with Simus?

Maybe in the far future when they start mining the EU for new material.

Depends on what we hear in the next year or so. In keeping with the production timeline of EpVII, they wouldn't have to start filming a spin-off for at least a year from now. There is still time.

The Sequel Trilogy is just a diversion.

PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY has begun on one or more of the spin-offs! ;)

But it's not like you can go from zero to principle photography in a day. In keeping with the production timeline of E7, they would have announced a director 7 months ago.

Plus that does nothing to address the #1 reason I believe there will be no spin-off in 2016, and that is that 1 of 3 things have to happen:

    1) Disney has 2 Star Wars movies released within roughly 5-7 months of each other
    2) Disney locks themselves into late-year (December) releases
    3) Disney decides to skip 2016 altogether

I believe options 1 and 2 are unacceptable, and option 3 makes the most sense.

Disney had no problem with releasing a Captain America movie within 5-7 months of a Thor movie.

Even if I agree there is no difference between Star Wars and the Marvel Universe (which I don't), you've actually supported my point without realizing it. Thor and Captain America would be analogous to the spin offs and the full Avengers movie would be analogous to the flagship Star Wars Episodes.

And you'll note that each of the flagship Avengers movies have a roughly 1 year buffer zone both before and after where there were no "spin offs" released.
