We've been invited to appear again this year at Summit's Autism Awareness Walk. Last year, we were very warmly welcomed by many parents of children who attend the school, teachers, friends and families. I don't expect this year to be any different.

We will not have a group table to staff. Our primary function is to mingle, pose for pictures, and create some smiles. This event is outdoors, so prepare for the weather.

We will have a secure changing area to suit up and rest during the walk. Once the walkers return, we've been asked to stay and help add to the celebration atmosphere.

 

Bummer. I'm working that Saturday.

Why not have a walking carpet at a charity walk......I'm there ....depending on weather might even walk

 

I'm excited to see this group at the walk again this year. Students, parents and teachers were so happy to see us last year! Some of us even started a Star Wars walk team this year. We're calling it Summit's Skywalkers and everyone from the North Ridge is invited to join us! If you want to check out our team page you can click this link: summitwalk2014.kintera.org/skywalkers. John said he would like a puzzle piece pin to wear at the walk, I'm going to work on getting him this and one for everyone else who is walking.
Our team will have tshirts as well. If you're interested in ordering one I need the order by April 17th. I'm still waiting for the quote from the printer, but I expect it to be less than $12.

 

I'd be game for a shirt. 5x if possible.

Also, if I'm in town I'm up for this. Maybe both Wookiees will be there......

We still need to work out some details but we may be able to come for part.

 

I'm really happy to see everyone's interest in this event. It's really shaping up to be pretty big. Summit's Skywalkers have already raised over $1000!

I am now out for this. My grandfather's funeral will be that morning.

Kathy, the walk organizer gave me some puzzle piece pins, and autism awareness bracelets. I should have more than enough of them for anyone who would like to wear them with their costumes, or those who come for event support
