Right, Chris Columbus directed the first two Potter films.

 

He'd directed 13 things (11 films, 2 shorts) which were mostly Shakespeare and a thriller (Dead Again, highly recommended!) and a drama / mystery (Sleuth).

This is not a hard choice, really. Nominated for 2 Oscars (one short film, one director) for directing and 1 for adapted screenplay.

None of this relates to Fantastic Four other than to point out that FOX has no idea how to attract talented people to their movies other than MBJ (directorial favor) and getting "the other, less talented Mara sister"...

 

Based on what, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo? Kate Mara did a great job playing an overly-naive reporter in House of Cards. Just because she didn't transform herself into a goth hacker girl doesn't mean she's a bad actress

You know what? I'm just going to pretend that this movie is a sequel to Chronicle. Everyone should do the same.

 

I really don't think it matters who is adopted. The story needs to be really good and there needs to be chemistry between the actors.

What, the "being racist" thing? I'd say it's not working out too well. They're entitled to their views, and everyone rightly thinks they're scumbags.

 

My point was mostly that despite it being 2014, some people just can't accept mixed families. Hell, look at the Cheerios commercial and the idiots going on about that.

I think if this movie just doesn't have anyone go "WHA YOU IS SIBLINGS?" and everyone just goes "Oh, okay," that'd be great.

 

Well, "canon" Dr. Storm did descend into alcoholism and debauchery before going to prison. I'm sure when the writers saw that, they figured it must have been a coloring mistake in the comics and decided to fix it now.

Let's not forget that Dr. Storm also has the distinction of being one of the deadest people in comics. Dies the issue after his initial appearance, and stays dead. Unlike most individuals to whom that statement could apply he is: 1. Not involved in an origin story, 2. Directly related to one or more principle characters, 3. Not a generic criminal. He's so dead the statement on permadeath should be revised to "Uncle Ben and Dr. Storm."

I don't want a Dr. Storm origin story. I have origin story fatigue. 30 seconds of how Johnny and Sue are related are fine by me.

 

Dr. Storm was featured pretty prominently in Ultimate Fantastic Four. Judging by the young cast they're probably using a lot of influence from that series. Personally, I'd like them to use the teleportation mishap origin story over the classic cosmic rays. Space exploration is soooo last century.

 

I dunno, I'd contend that an independent rocket experiment is timelier now than ever, but it's probably insufficiently sci-fi or something.

 

I'm more of a Marvel 616 than Ultimate Universe subscriber. However, Mile Morales is awesome.

Genius. This is Disney further sabotaging the FF franchise. Now, even if by some bizarre twist of fate the new FF is a hit, Fox's director will be unavailable to jump straight into a sequel.
