16 episodes? Two of which comprise the series premiere, leaving just 14. Getting from one season of TCW to the next took long enough, now we'll have to wait even longer between Rebels seasons...unless they do more than one season a year, but i'm not holding my breath.

Disney understands the attention span of their core audience so we very well may get more than one season a year.

 

Maybe. But that means more quantity at the expense of quality

 

Transformers: Animated had seasons 1-2 air back-to-back but then there was like a year between 2 and 3, wasn't there? I would hope they'd take a more neutral course: maybe air 1 and 2 back-to-back, or with only a 2 month interval between them, but then keep season 3 only a few months after season 2. In any case, if they're only doing 16 episodes a season (or at least in season 1) then there'd better be top-notch writing in every single episode.

Actually, Tarkin had some Troopers check Dantooine. They found remnants of an old Rebel Base.

 

I'm unclear about the recent comments saying the show will only be 16 episodes with them aired as a movie of the week with back to back episodes. Does this mean we will get 8 weeks of 2 episodes apiece?
If not why didn't they say it was 32 episodes?

 

I think 16 episodes is a good move. Theoretically, it will allow them to cut out the filler and make a better serialised show. I'm saying that we might not get entire episodes following Chopper around making his bizarre noises.

 

Just look at the massive drop off between seasons of Korra. They know they'll need to crank out the episodes faster, similar to what nick has done with TMNT.

 

Yeah, so either we have 16 single episodes over the span of 8 weeks or 32 episodes over the span of 16 weeks. I hope it's the latter though as long as the quality is great throughout. If we have 16 fantastic episodes vs. 32 fantastic to bad episodes I'll take the 16 episodes.

Plus that means they can put out the new season a little more quickly.

Having 16 episode seasons instead of 22 or 23 is actually a good thing. 16 episode seasons generally cut down on much of the filler stuff as few seasons ever consist of enough needed information to fill a 22 episode schedule. I'm sorry but I think some of you are just looking for reasons to not like this show.

 

The inevitable Lando/Hondo episode is on the horizon!

Edit: ...ehhh I didn't mean that "/" in the er, fanfic "/" sense. Although we'll see it on deviantart anyway. With or without the episode. Hell someone probably already drew it already.

 

Not yet. I did do Kitster and Wald as a pair of Rebels era bounty hunters though.

 

Now all we need is Porkins to appear and we're set.

I'd like an episode of "when Han met Chewie" too.

How Han gained the Falcon, met Chewie and Lando should be kept for spin off movies. I do not want Rebels becoming like the PT

 

I guess the spin-off movie would have to be animated, otherwise Han is gonna be way too old for a spin off
