    I'm really enjoying this show. I never watched the original from the 80s, but I see that it was only around for 13 episodes. I wonder if the same will be true for this reboot.

    I love this show. Yesterday, I read about the discovery of a new planet that could support life and I wonder if, on it, sentient beings have discovered our planet and wonder if there is life here. I am excited by what science will discover in my life time but sobered by what I will not live to see.

    Well, tonight's episode was pretty informative- I didn't know much of the two stories being told, so even better that this episode was so heavily centered around it. I think it also did a much better job of linking a more "controversial" subject like the age of the Earth and showing how the science that proves that lead to something that impacted and improved all of our lives- in this case, the poisons of leaded gasoline and lead products.

    On top of that, we also had NDT showing off his Sim City terraforming powers.

    The scientist in the show who exposed lead also is the grandfather of the global warming movement. His research exposed what we were doing and only by going to the deepest parts of the ocean and the antartica can we see what we have done to this earth. Sadly something that will not be mentioned by fox news.

    The giant millipedes I could deal with. The giant dragonflies would be problematic but not impossible to deal with. Great Dame-sized scorpions? **** that.

    Has anyone seen the original Cosmos and what are your thoughts compared to the old one?
    And I would love to see a cartoon series based on great moments in science like those on cosmos. It could be Seth McFarlane's cavalcade of science.

    Nobody mentions Giant Spiders?

    Congo legend says a Giant Spider with a 6 foot leg span still lives in the jungle some where.

    100% BS most likely. But enough to make sure I'll never visit the congo for any reason EVER.

    Has anyone done an experiment to see how long in generations does it take for insects to grow bigger in the same oxygen rich environment? Basically use a large airtight container with oxygen levels the same as when they larger ones existed. See how many generations it takes before they grow larger.
