ST Hansbro accidentally reveals focus of each spinoff movie?

I searched the first couple pages but didn't see a post on this. Apparently, at a convention in Germany, Hansbro revealed the focus for the company every year from now until 2020.

Star Wars toy schedule release dates

In 2015 the focus will be on Episode VII
In 2016 the focus will be Boba Fett
In 2017 the focus will be on Episode VIII
In 2018 the focus will be on Han Solo
In 2019 the focus will be on Episode IX
In 2020 the focus will be on Red 5

So, why is there so much speculation that the new Spinoff that Whitta is writing will be something other than Boba Fett? It seems all but certain now.

 

This has been discussed at length. Nobody is certain if it is legit or not. Jedinews is wayyyyy less than credible IMHO. If they were the source of the rumor, I think it would be more useful as toilet paper.

They were not. It was a fan site in Germany that first posted it. I doubt it's real but people sure are talking about it. Eric and Eric had quite a conversation about it this week on the ForceCast.

 

People are talking about it because it makes sense that Hansbro would know. Suppliers always know more about upcoming products than just about anybody. Look at where all the Iphone leaks come from. They're always coming from the parts manufacturers. So, the fact this came from Hansbro Germany, and that the 3 spinoffs all seem to make sense from a popularity perspective, and that the sites were asked to take it down (somebody feared their job) only increases the likelihood that this is the roll out schedule.

It's also interesting that they officially announced the first spinoff directing/writing team only a short time after this was "leaked."

 

It may turn out to be true, there is no way that I could refute that. I just have no faith in it until we get something more credible and solid.

 

From all the spinoff, Red 5 looks the most interesting.

Pine and Quinto as Kirk & Spock, not to mention Bale and Ledger as Batman and the Joker have made me less worried about recasting iconic roles. It can be done with the right people and directors.

If 2018 is Han Solo's year, maybe he doesn't die in EP VII in 2015.

 

So Luke arrives on Yavin a few hours before the Death Star and there's a spare X-Wing just waiting for him!? Who the heck was the Red-5 pilot before Luke came along? ... You know what, they should make a movie about him ... Oh, wait.

 

Unless the spin off features the adventures of a young Solo.

Was hoping for a Palpatine/Sidious spin off. See his teachings and rise in the darkside.

 

I figured if/when we get a Han movie it should include everything: Dismissal from the Imperial Academy, freeing Chewie, and especially the epic sabaac game that wins him the Falcon (and features Anthony Mackie as a young Lando). The Kessel Run and "the bounty hunter we ran into on Ord Mantell"/dumping Jabba's cargo would be an added bonus.
