I don't think Luke makes it out of this trilogy alive. However, I think there is a decent chance he lives until IX.

I agree he doesn't survive the trilogy but I think he is the last original character to go.

For some reason I could see Leia surviving the whole trilogy.

I actually dont see them killing them all off to be honest. I think they just gradually phase them out of the story until we just see them in passing.

If they don't kill Luke they're going to have to come up with something pretty creative to take him out of the story. Because if Luke is still around it will make the new cast feel minor in comparison. Unless one of the new characters is more powerful? And I don't want to see a story where the new cast just runs to dad/uncle to solve their problems. Which is what I would expect if he is around.

I like the idea of Luke holding back a black-hole with the force while a solar system gets evacuated lol.

You could have them split up a la TESB, Endor, AotC, or RotS. No need for them to run to Luke. Luke can be doing his thing while the newbie's are doing theirs, with their paths crossing every now and then.

I like the idea that Luke could be the Yoda figure of the ST (OT Yoda, not PT Yoda): the wise old Jedi Master who is less involved with the action. Perhaps he's living in solitude for whatever reason, and a younger Jedi character has to seek him out in order to be trained.

IIRC he was beardless at the script reading, so might this be for the movie?

he confirmed it is. He said he's in a little low budget independent flick "the life of George Lucas, and I'm up for the title role. Fingers crossed."

Maybe he will have a beard in EP VII as well. ;) Although that would make look way too much like Obi-Wan....

His joke about being in a film about Lucas, was his sarcastic way of saying he was growing the beard for Episode VII... and he couldn't get it to grow it fast enough.

But I'm assuming in this episode, Mark will be cast as an "older" Luke Skywalker so I'm not sure how much conditioning he is required to do.

Mark and Billy Dee look like they're about to begin an off Broadway production of Miami Vice.

I always liked this look for Luke and I'm trippin cause it's the Hope medal outfit without the jacket. For some reason I was thinking this was just a promo outfit. I always liked the colors of Black shirt and brown pants:

That's a good look for him. Should pass the pic along to one of my sisters who had a crush on him growing up.
