Re: Cheers. Loved the show. But I've always preferred the Kirstie Alley episodes to the Shelley Long ones. I just found Rebecca *soo* funny. "I wish I could just turn to dust and BLOW AWAY!"

 

It's hard for me to have a favorite, since the Diane-years/Rebecca-years each brought upon different dynamics to the show, which was always entertaining.

 

I think I like both of them equally, too. Rebecca's neurotic breakdowns were usually quite hilarious. We just watched the series finale ep the other night, and she had some really funny moments in that last show.

 

One of the best finales for any show; hard to pick out a favorite moment from it, but this section has also held great resonance for me:

Seinfeld was a great show, but the finale was terrible. Cheers, on the other hand, showed how to do a series finale right.

 

Oddly enough, out of the 5-10 episodes of Seinfeld I've seen thus far, that series finale was one of them.

 

Sounds like I need to start watching these shows.

 

Now that they've been off the air for years, yeah... get on it.

I'm very behind the times on a lot of things.

 

If you get the chance, I think you'd enjoy more of Seinfeld. The first couple of seasons or so aren't that great (IMO) but after that, the show really found its stride and was just terrific. The best eps hold up so well for me--even though I have seen some of them _many_ times, I still find them funny. Just the way the four of them perform their characters is amazing.

btw, can I call you "Tunes" as some in the JCC do? That's a great nickname!

Do you pay for cable or satellite TV? $7.99 per month for Netflix (plus free over-the-air TV with an antenna) is a much better investment.

 

Actually no. Just the free network channels. I could get Netflix but to be honest I doubt I'd make enough time to make it worth my while now. When the kids get older maybe.

Though it appears that some episodes are missing (chiefly, the 50th anniversary special), I'm so very happy that Netflix has series 7 of Doctor Who available; I'll be caught up (ie: NuWho) before series 8 begins in August!

I won't be viewing any series 8 trailers until I'm done with series 7... I'm just about halfway there.
