I love Tom Cruise as an actor. I would worry that he would look out of place in a Star Wars movie though. It would certainly be a case of "hey look there's Tom Cruise!", which is what you don't want while watching a movie like Star Wars, which is more about bein immersed in the worlds and characters. A lot of movies can get away with a superstar in them, but not Star Wars.
