Not a huge fan of full-face helmets, at least the usual costume-grade. Also, unless they come with all sorts of enhancements like a stormtrooper's, or are necessary for basic survival, they're actually quite useless and interfere with one's ability to perceive the environment.

Nope. I'll wear one if it's really cold and I need it to keep my head warm, like on a run in the winter, but that's it.

Oh, that's about it for me too. Not big on silly hats. But I do wear caps in the summertime to keep that pesky sun out of my eyes.

Also, this from the official blog:

The Rise of Lord Vader, depicting the moment of Anakin Skywalker’s complete transformation into Darth Vader as seen in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. This ornament plays dialogue from this memorable scene in the sixth Star Wars film. The battery-operated ornament is 4 7/8” high and is priced at $19.95 with batteries included.

    That's right.

Now in ornament form. I have to have one.

They're just asking for people to bring it to the Del Rey panels at C7, premiere of Episode VII, etc etc.

He's toting around what amounts to be a giant marionette, while he hides in the cape and peers out at chest level. Aside from weight, awkwardness of controls and remaining coordinated, he's actually got it a bit easier in terms of restriction. However, I doubt he can sit very easily, so going to the bathroom would be an absolute ordeal.

It is a blast! If you can't stand the heat, restrictive costumes, not being able to sit or pee, being barely able to even move around or manipulate objects, and being totally blind, then don't do the cosplay. I love the cosplay experience. I'll stuff myself into heavy and restrictive armor and putter around a convention totally blind! Seeing the reactions of others makes it totally worth it.

Also, having a squire or two helps. If you're doing a complex costume, don't cosplay alone. Someone will need to help you out of part of that costume so you can pee.

Yes! Diancie hasn't been released overseas and so far is event-only in Japan.

I have the exact same problem. Except I'm not at work.

And I'm sitting in the garden.

    With cider.

    And a nice book.

    And...

Okay, I don't have your problem.

I take it your work takes you outside regularly, Trip? (Hey, if Goodwood is Jello's Grand High Field Marshal, you could be his Chief Forester or some such. ;) )

I could be a Forester. I don't mind the bugs or the crazy wildlife. I apparently don't mind thorns, either, as I've recently crawled through a wineberry bush unprotected.

Never send line infantry into a forest unsupported. The Romans learned that the hard way.

It's actually quite cool out today here in the Metro Detroit area. Temps in the low 70s and a brisk breeze, and limited cloud cover.
