"In your solitude on Tatooine, training I have for you."

I'm pretty sure Old Ben would have spent his quiet years meditating and communing with Qui Gon, learning to become one with the Force while looking over the child from the ever present threat of the Sith. I don't see how he would have nothing to focus on other than banging some woman.

I know what's more likely to give him a reputation as a strange old hermit.

Communing with Qui-Gon, talking to himself, earned Obi-Wan Kenobi the title of a normal hermit.

Bringing chicks up to his hut at 1am every other night earned him the title of a 'strange' old hermit. :p

Okay I forgot how she died. She was just the only way I could see Obi having an affair. So unless TCW is uncanon theirs no chance of that now.

What if "the other" was Obi-wan's son? Obi-wan probably had a few girl friends on Tatooine.

I think it could be done well. Throughout the series there are moments where we're led to infer Obi-Wan is a man about town, or has a bit of a secret life himself, e.g., him knowing his way around the Mos Eisley Cantina, "going for a drink"/ Dex's diner in Ep. 2.

I think this had more to do with his "Grey Jedi" style and relaxing a bit rather than the strict rules of the rest of the order.

Of course. I doubt the Order requires you to know every bar.

I'm just sayin'..."attachment is forbidden" but ole Obi-Wan might have had no qualms with a one night stand or two.

Considering the Jedi Order were almost vanished, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Obi Wan found some companionship. Especially if the force gave him a gentle hint in that direction.

    Offspring? Er.... NO!

I can imagine Obi-Wan, snuggling by the fire with his missus, whispering sweet nothings. She turns to him ... I think it is time we had a child offspring together.

Quick wave of the hand and a "I am the old hermit you're looking for" solved that!

    Oh, I can:

That said, no, I'm not particularly interested in seeing Obi-Wan with any offspring. I quite prefer Kenobi as the embodiment of the old Jedi Order ideal.

    Now Luke?

As not the last of the old, rather the first of the new, I absolutely hope he has kids.

You must not have heard about the leaked holo-video of Obi-Wan and the Tonnika sisters in a rather..."compromising" position. Strange old hermit, indeed.

I haven't read this whole thread, so some of my points may have already been touched on.

I think a child with Satine is entirely plausible. They spent a year together and then, as far as I know, didn't see each other for a long time. Say Satine had a child after Kenobi left. She would have every reason in the world to somehow keep that child secret. Not only would it damage Kenobi's reputation, it could potentially destroy her political career.

Now, I'm not saying a descendent (it would more likely be a grandchild) of Kenobi would necessarily be a good idea. But I think it is entirely plausible and fits with Obi-Wan's youth as established in TCW. A descendant from anyone besides Satine makes much less sense.

(Also, I may not be proud of it, but the idea of a Mandalorian descendent of Obi-Wan kinda sounds badass to me.)

Add in the fact that it wasn't like Obi Wan was a widower; someone dead inside romantically. His exile was more of a voluntary mission than a grieving process.

I'm in the camp of Obi Wan remaining an old school Jedi, but after the Satine arc, the "Kenobi" arc, etc. I may not be as opposed to the idea as I once would have been. (Brainwashed, I know...) The thought might be that later on, Obi Wan on some level empathizes with Anakin's position of marrying Padme.
