It was good to see Button, first time in a long time, actually fighting to hold onto positions, and chasing down others.

    Tough break for Lewis.

And another pole for the little ****. Williams another strong qualifying run, grabs 2 and 3.

    The wrong Merc crashed.

Good efforts from Bottas, Massa and the Red Bulls.

Magnussen performing as his Melbourne form suggested.

Paydriver Maltomato will remain with Lotus for another year. lolololol

So the Mercs have two different brakes manufacturers; Lewis has his Brembo, and Rosberg has the one with the Swiss name.

I remember Lewis struggling last year before Mercedes caved and bought him the Brembo brakes he liked and used at Maclaren. For me at least, put a slightly different perspective on the Canadian situation, where both Mercs lost the brake recovery system, and had to use the physical brakes system,, which is much smaller this year.
Not just that "Lewis was running with more rear brake bias", no, he and Nico were running with two different manufacturers.

Good job, both Williams. Massa, don't **** it up by hitting anyone, not even when Hamilton tries to pass you.

Yeah, my prediction is that Felipe won't make the podium.

I'm sorta thinking ROS BOT HAM or ROS BOT RIC for the podium.

It would be nice to think Williams and Bottas might be in a position to win the Championship in 2015!

That would be so good, 20 years after Damon Hill last won it for them.

Don't forget Villeneuve won the drivers championship for Williams in 1997 (though I think Ferrari won the Constructors?)

There was the famous incident in the final race at Jerez where Schu tried to force him off the track, though unlike with Damon 1994 it didn't come off, LOL! ;)

But yeah, it's been far too long without Williams winning a title.

Yeah but I think the real value for Williams, to really signify it's back, is the double WDC/WCC.

I just realised that as well, the "1966 champion", actor James Garner, had passed away. If you haven't seen the 1966 film Grand Prix, do yourself a favour and watch it.

    Great film!

Had never seen it, or even knew it existed, prior to discovering it on television, after watching the German GP, Sunday afternoon.

I've got it on DVD, along with Le Mans from 1971 (starring Steve McQueen) and Rush.

I love that Largo from Thunderball is playing Enzo Ferrari; and that people like Sir Jack Brabham and Graham Hill are featured.

I felt a bit of giddy excitement seeing the head of SPECTRE in the Bahamas step out of that car, only known him for the Thunderball role.

My Dad spotted Graham Hill before I did, and knowing Eddie Jordan's history with his own racing team, I was a bit puzzled seeing "Jordan Racing" on the chassis of a couple cars, while the cars seemed to be from an earlier era to what I know EJ for.

I also took some interest in the companies on the billboards, whose names or logos were still familiar to me, either because they are still around, eg. that weird black dog thing with more legs than a dog should reasonably have, which I see at British Super Bike (BSB) events; or as nostalgia, eg. a brewery that used to have the pub near me, and whose name I have forgotten 48 hours later...dammit. And Lancia.

I know he isn't well liked but I'm feeling sorry for Lewis this year.

The problems and bad luck he's having really is quite unbelievable, it's like going back to the darkest day's of the Mansell era when, if could go wrong, nine times out of ten it would! [face_laugh]

It's hard to understand it, LOL. What does the guy have to do to catch a break?

They say luck eventually evens itself out, if/when it does, Rosberg won't have anything to complain about...

Conditions looking pretty challenging/showery for the race.

Think we could be in for an interesting Hungarian Grand Prix for once.

    You're not wrong!

So much for Mercedes' "No team orders" stance

I've never wanted Hamilton to win so much! What an astonishing ride he's put in.
