According to Variety, David Yates (who directed the final four HP films) is in negotiations to direct the first film in the so-called "Magical Creatures" series.

I read the books, but lost interest after OOTP (though I finished the series) and I bailed on the movies after TPOA. What do you fans think about this choice? From the outside looking in it seems like a good fit, though perhaps a bit uninspired.

 

The end of the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will forever annoy me.

 

The epilogue to DH is not good at all. Albus Severus Potter. Shudder.

 

Considering that there is no big original work to adapt like was the case with the last Potter films (isn't Rowling writing the script herself?) I can't make an opinion about future wizard Yates films based on the adaptations of the books. And I think that it won't be nearly as dark as the last Potters, so hopefully there will be colors. But still, Yates wouldn't be my choice. What about Cuaron, is he free?

Oh, and Albus Scarfy Potter FTW.

So on Halloween, JK will put up a small story on Pottermore for one of the series's most despicable characters: Dolores Umbridge.

 

I hope it involves a grisly end for her.

 

I want more info on the underdeveloped students in Hogwarts. Several students were mentioned once or twice.

 

And knowing how much JK is neck deep into Potter right now, we certainly can expect that we'll get backstories or some hint of backstory for all the characters eventually.

Good thing that JK is in charge of literally everything. There's no secondary tier of canon or outsourced material from other sources; it's all completely her.
