I like that PJ changed the barrel scene for the movie.

I look forward to the day when I can watch all six films in their extended form in one sitting. Preferably with some longbottom leaf.

While I won't have the gumption to do 6 EE's in an entire sitting, I did wait to get the big ole LOTR Extended Edition box set, also waiting on all of the Hobbit flicks to be a box set, which would be fun as a companion piece. Probably take me a few days to get through all 6 EEs! Last time I watched the LOTR EE's, it took me about a week. But, I will say, I do like the EE versions of the movies as, say, 20 to 40 minute episodic chunks, it plays a bit more like a sprawling mini-seres epic as opposed to the single-sitting endurance tests that the flicks can sometimes feel like if you go from top to bottom. I like my Jackson Rings movies in Hobbit sized viewing portions, what can I say?

I'm not sure I could watch all six films in a day, especially the DCs, I would think your mind would be totally obliterated by the end, but having said that an epic 18 hour War of the Ring? Bring it on Prescious! :D

And most of that time is taken up by fan club credits.

I thought about this for some reason the other day... simply using the eagles is a flawed premise, right? Something about how the eagles aren't just a taxi service and they try to avoid areas where they could be shot by arrows? I think I've read that somewhere. But on the other hand, they do attack the Nazguls' fell beasts during the battle at Mordor, and then of course rescue Sam and Frodo from the volcanic environment after the ring's been destroyed.

I prefer watching them a disc at a time - basically in 90 minute sections. That the way I watched them when the Blu-ray collection was released and it worked very well. When the ROTK EE DVD was released, I did an EE marathon of all three movies within a 24 hour period one weekend and it nearly broke me. :D

Just wondering, how do I use the spoiler function?

Little late to the party here, but that trailer/blu-ray comparison points out one thing in particular - blue and orange washes and emphasis are all over the trailer.

So when they showed us the last of the long poster art for the third film at Comic-Con, I literally was pointing and screaming "WAR MOOSE!!!!" at the wall. Everyone around me thought i was insane.

Saying "remove the spaces" seems simpler than saying "remove the [ plain ] and [ /plain ] parts". [face_laugh]

They won't see the [plain][/plain] tags, the actual result would look like: [spoiler]Spoiler info here[/spoiler].

Apparently some guys at TheOnering.net forums are reporting the runtime of the Extended Edition of Desolation of Smaug will be 186:38 Min, that's 25 minutes longer than the Theatrical Cut (161 minutes) and 4 minutes longer than AUJ EE (182 min)
