Mother Talzin vs. Darth Plagueis

 

Oooh. Tough one. I'm gonna go with Plagueis. Largely cause I don't like the clone wars.

 

Very tough fight but id have to give it to Mother Talzin. Plagueis may have had the power to stop people.from.dying but he couldn't keep himself.from.dying therefore he loses my vote.

 

I'm going to vote for Mother Talzin. Plagueis seems too bookish to survive against someone as battle-tested as MT.

 

Very interesting battle. I have to say Plagueis; IMO his death was caused because he was unable to see through Sidious' betrayal, not because he lacked the power to hold off against him (he would still lose though).

 

Either way, according to the Darth Bane way of doing things, an apprentice defeating his master, however he does it, has beaten him. After all, if the master, who should be a master of guile himself, falls prey to guile, he's lacking. Therefore his death would make the Sith stronger, by definition.

That's true, but if Plagueis fought Talzin in a 1v1 battle I still think Plagueis would win.

 

Great battle and I think it'd be very close, but I'll go with Talzin. Her feats are very impressive. She went toe-to-toe with Windu, and her Force powers were shown to be even too powerful for him. She almost killed Dooku from a different planet using voodoo and even took control of his body another time. Even Sidious was concerned about her power.

After thinking about it a bit more, I'm gonna change my vote to Plagueis. Talzin may have been very impressive, but Plagueis was extremely powerful and would probably find a way to get past her sorcery.

Yes. Just from a logical standpoint, through the Rule of Two he's one of the strongest Sith in the Order of the Sith Lords. Talzin's sorcery/magic is impressive for what it is, and considering she's a Nightsister, but we know that Plagueis was similar to Palpatine (And Darth Caedus to an extent) in that he researched and studied various obscure and arcane aspects of the Force during his search for eternal life. Keep in mind, unlike many others he was aware of the Jedi's ability to attain the Force Ghost state, as well as the Essence Transfer technique, both of which were lost at different times in Jedi and Sith history, the former I don't even remember any other Sith mentioning. Absorbing energy, telekinesis, Force Lightning, he knew the basics and then some. I feel the one area where you can call his skills into question is in physical, lightsaber combat, since we never got to see him go up against the best like Yoda or Mace. Even then however, his own Master (Who didn't seem to hold the highest opinion of him, as they disagreed on various things) acknowledged him as an expert with the blade, he himself trained another expert, and what little we do see of him paints a nice picture.

 

Plus, in terms of raw combat power, Plagueis trained Venamis, who put up a good fight against Palpatine.

 

I'll go with Plagueis.

 

Tenebrous trained Venamis, who was then defeated by Plagueis and used for research in midichlorian manipulation.
