Amph Gaming The Last of Us

TLOU has to be one of my favorite games ever. The graphics, the story and the characters... I mean God, I just love Ellie. I'm still not sure what do I think about them making a sequel of it. Great games don't need sequels.

 

How many of you will be buying The Last of Us when it comes out on PS4?

 

Probably not, not unless there's a deal to get it cheap if you have the PS3 version. Last of Us was great, but horror/survival isn't usually my thing and one playthrough was enough, or rather, I'm not paying full price for a graphical update of a game I already own. If they give it away for free with a Plus membership, or at least offer a good deal for it, maybe.

Though if they had to port a game for PS4, Last of Us is probably a good choice. It'll be interesting to see how much they can improve the graphics, as it already had some of the best graphics of the last generation.

Just started playing the game

Good so far, controls are good too.

 

If I find a good deal on a PS4, I may buy as well for this game (and Uncharted 4).

 

I picked this up the other day at Gamestop. they had a decent deal to trade in the PS3 version and get the PS4 for 1/2 price so i went with that. i have to say the game is still awesome. Definitely one of my favorites.

 

Just started playing this on ps3 and my god what a game.

On way to capitol building so far and while the worst thing I've faced so far is a clicker or three, I've actually found groups or runners to be far more challenging.

Superb so far.

That part with 2 bloaters, clickers and runners were a pain to deal with.

 

Agreed, runners are far more dangerous to deal with IMO. Clickers can be avoided, runners can see you and move erratically as to make stealth fairly difficult. They turn at the wrong time and you've got a lot of crap to deal with.

 

Not to mention headshots!

While clickers are erratic, trying to get a bead on a runner is a complete PITA

 

Was that the part in the tunnels right before the hospital?

 

Yes.

 

Yeah that took me quite a few tries and that was just normal mode.

 

On way to the school now, had to stop playing as it's too intense

Great news but I do think that they should do a full wrap up of the Elle/Joel story here or even finish it completely

As much as I like a good sequel to a quality game, I do worry about reduction in quality when it hits full on sequel mode. GTA has avoided it so far but Resident evil and Silent Hill for example have gotten worse with each game after the second one. (YMMV)
