Amph Better Call Saul (Spoilers within)

I ultimately don't care much. I just thought it would be better to use the existing thread because BTS has been discussed there since it was the fever dream of a desperate AMC exec a twinkle in Vince Gilligan's eye. And I hate redundant threads with the same discussions; it's like Amph existing again.

Don't use the MCU as a counterexample to anything. It's the Worst Thing to Happen to Cinema in the Past Decade, Part 2.

I came to BB late and binge watched it. It dragged a bit in the middle but Saul and Mike were the best things about it. I cannot have wished enough harm on Jesse.

This show, though, takes the character I liked most in BB and gives him a show. So. Nyer.

CW started a show based on Green Arrow called "Arrow". During Season 2, Grant Gustin guest starred as Barry Allen, known in DC Comics as the Flash. The intent was to set him up there as a character then spin the Flash off into it's own series.

I fail to see the issue. They share a common universe. One was spun off from the other. They are tonally separate and tell separate story arcs for their main characters.

This is but one of a few examples. The Marvel films/TV shows is another good example.

It seems that in reality the only person who has an issue with it... is one who doesn't normally participate in Amph threads on TV show properties?

This thread is for talking about episodes of Better Call Saul. That thread is for discussing episodes of BrBa (the correct abbreviation, btw). If you want to discuss how one relates to the other in either thread what is to stop you? This is JCC. Lighten up.

 

I'd tend to agree that a separate thread for the spin off is warranted.

 

lol... I post in the BB thread all the time. It's probably my favorite show, I've ever seen. As for these other examples you're giving, yeah... no idea what you're talking about.

 

They're examples where a show spun off from another show. Given the promise that BCS will be tonally distinct from BrBa and it will cover a different arc, a separate thread makes sense and follows precedent.

Arrow and The Flash had crossover episodes. We coped just fine.

I guess I just love the BB thread (I don't really care about correct abbreviations.... BB is just easier for me to type) -- lots of good times in that thread, and I'm sure, should this thread remain open, there will be good times here, as well. I did not intend for this to become a srs biz issue.

 

I don't mean to say that you're getting worked up in the literal sense, but you're getting forum worked up because you're arguing about it.

Of course there are other people arguing with you, so I was talking to them as well.

After my commute home, and reading this thread, I have a renewed vigour to fight for this thread. Better Saul deserves it's own thread.

Imagine someone comes on here, eager to discuss BCS. They see a BB thread. They've never seen BB, but know those shows are linked? Where do they start, precisely?

I say they deserve a dedicated thread. This thread.

 

Not that my opinion is worth anything, but I agree with harps on this.
