Less freaky? I just looked that up, and it reminds me of a relative. . .which makes Bardan image more scary than someone I have coffee with. Hmmm. Guess it depends on your point of view.

Corellian_Outrider: What program do you use to make the banners? I might have use for a program like that for my Fanfiction covers.

 

I had to include everyone he had a connection with

Program I used was Photoshop and the tool to put it together is a Wacom Intous (graphics tablet/stylus), the tablet is optional but I find it more ergonomic and natural to use than a mouse.

 

It isn't a free program...

 

Well, no. Adobe does have a subscription service and access via cloud… not sure how that goes price wise but should be cheaper than getting the entire creative suite on disc. Not sure if they still release the disc format of their latest versions beyond CS6 though I know there is a stripped down version of it called Elements that are sometimes packed in with Wacom tablets and tools.

There are alternative software like GIMP which apparently is a free open source program but I've never used it before but from what I've heard, it does a similar job and similar User Interface.

 

Good to hear. Because I'm really in need of a program like that, my fanfictions need some beautiful cover.

It is indeed, both here and Comms.

 

Heya everyone. I hope you all are going well.

There has been some talk about creating a new banner and a few ideas about keeping things feeling fresh and cover more than what would have been possible in the current format. I don't want to give too much away just yet incase it does not pan out with some of the technical hurdles.

Having said that, I will be needing help again in deciding the content for it. The overall aim is to cover significant part of each era on the ever expanding timeline. Rough idea for the eras are but not limited to:

• The Old Republic
• Galactic Republic / The Clone Wars / Rise of the Empire
• Galactic Civil War / Rebellion
• The New Republic
• The New Jedi Order

Looking for a couple of essential characters and objects that is representative of that era. Objects as in; planet, building, creature, craft, droid, weapon and so forth. An example would be:

Era: The Old Republic
Series: Knight of the Old Republic
Characters: Jarael, Zayne, Revan, Kreya, Malgus, Shae Vizla
Objects: Republic Cruiser, Ebon Hawk, Sith Fighters, Coruscant

Not all elements will be used, it all depends on what works for the composition. I think that covers everything…. I'll keep you all posted on how progress goes.
