ST Colin Trevorrow NOT directing Episode IX

I'm fine with this choice as long as he brings the raptors into star wars 9. Freaking love those raptors

 

I like his work so far. Let's see how he does.

Holy hellcats, I thought this was a joke, jurassic world is no better or worse than 2/3, the performances from the lead actors is dire.
Im actually really shocked kathleen kennedy and disney could be so shortsighted.
This has bummed my excitement for the whole st trilogy, terrible decision!!!

One of My top 5 favorite directors is ending the sequel trilogy, after making the masterpiece that was JW, Episode IX will be great

Guys, what did he direct that was so terrible?

 

This thread is just starting off and already it's starting to give me a headache.

(Not the news, I haven't seen Jurassic World so I don't have any feelings one way or the other, just the kneejerk reactions.)

 

Safety Not Guaranteed was cutesy tripe. But it was smugly "indie" so for some people that gives this guy cred I guess.

There was absolutely nothing remarkable about it. At all.

Never seen any of his movies, but was not impressed by what I heard of Jurassic World. It looks as if JJ is going to be the most experienced director in the ST. Hope the other guys don't disappoint.

 

I'm surprised at all of this negativity (even if negativity is the status quo in Star Wars fandom) Trevorrow made one of the most successful movies of all time (and one My favorite movies) surely episode XI won't be a disaster ?

 

He's cool, did a great job with JW, good choice.

 

Oh dear. I didn't want to start worrying about IX this far in advance.

 

Hopefully they'll hire Duncan Jones for an Anthology film. I was rooting for him to helm IX.

seems like @Leoluca Randisi got his wish I recall he even made a thread as to why Colin should direct SW.

 

Am I the only one who actually likes the choice? He did a great job with Jurassic World I thought. I feel like a lot of the negativity around Jurassic World has to do with its success. It wasn't the best film ever but it was a good solid film and I think he has the talent to wrap up the ST nicely. People wouldn't be hating Jurassic World as much if it wasn't the third highest grossing film of all time.

 

Jurassic world! Totally average movie, i am baffled at its success, right movie right time and some good marketing, i nearly fell asleep in the cinema.

 

Haven't see it. But I honestly, don't care to either.

 

JW was a pure popcorn film, entertaining but not terribly intelligent. I don't think I can judge CT just based on that, though. So I'm just "Um...okay...I guess we'll see how this goes." May the Force be with him.
